Just got a new computer and I need a speaker system for it. There are TONS of systems out there with price ranges from $10 to $1000. Don't even know where to start! Anybody got any good suggestions?
Well, we need to know your spending cap before providing suggestions. I have tons of suggestions, but a lot of them might be considered pricey ($300+)
Thanks drapg. I'd like to stay as cheap as possible. But am willing to look at the $150 to $300 range. I bought the computer rebuilt (from my company that upgraded everyone's system) and I really don't want to spend more on the speakers than I did for the computer.
For the price.. you're getting really good bang for your buck with these guys.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121121
I use the stock Harman/Kardon's that come with Dells, and they're great. I use use a cheapo 2 speaker setup with no woofer, and it sounds top notch.
mc mark, you should consider whether or not you need surround sound. are you watching films on your computer or just listening to music? maybe, if you only use it for music you don't want or need six speakers. just a thought.
I have the Klipsch 3 piece system, sounds amazing. They really crank out the sound. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836119101
I got a set of these for my son: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121120 and they sound very nice.
Just look through this page. http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Category.asp?Category=37 I have a pair of Z-640's (5.1) which aren't the most powerful, but for the price...they are damn good. The Sub is incredibly loud and deep, the satelites are where the power is a bit low.
