How grade-schoolish. If you can't handle the heat, go whine in another kitchen. Whiner. I'm aware of the standings. I'm also aware that "our offense is anemic!!!!" is not the reason the standings look the way they do. I am also aware that the standings will change, many times over, before October arrives. These are things whiners normally don't consider when they incesantly whine. As far as your calling it "criticising" and complaining when I call it for what it really is: whining, here's your favorite emoticon for you: If I wanted to waste the time, I'd find a picture of a big titty-baby sitting in a pool of tears and rubbing his eyes.
Anybody remember who was in 1st place in the NL Central at the end of April last year? CINCINNATI . That's who.
Hell, if we had scored the 5 extra runs in 3 of our games we would be 11-6. 75 is better than 70 I would say. Don't you just love it when these people make the argument for you?
I wouldn't point this out, because it's pretty meaningless, but you were so emphatic with your bold colors - HOUSTON WAS IN FIRST PLACE AT THE END OF APRIL 2004 . The Astros ended April 13-9, Cincy was 12-10. We got to 21-11 at one point in the season before slumping to .500 by the break.
Obviously not. But it was doing fine last week outside of the 1-0 loss to the Cards when this thread was started. I still don't think the sky is falling.
The point was that these things go up and down. And yes, Cincinnatti did spend time in first place early last season.
It's also true that bad teams go down quickly and stay down. It's possible the Astros aren't very good, thanks to their batting lineup.
Sure, I know they did. And I know that early success or failure doesn't mean the season is over, I think I used the term "pretty meaningless". But if I was going to throw out statements in bold and pretty colors, I think I'd check the facts first.
