I'm looking for a good and cheap Chinese restaurants that'll deliver to the Briar Forest/Beltway 8 area. A good General Tso's Chicken is a definite plus. Thanks.
Sorry nobody helped you. I made a sweet and sour chicken stir fry for dinner. Not bad for my first attempt. I wish I had some rice though.
I would help but I am not familiar with your area. However, for anyone living in Pearland or passing by one of the best chinese places there has got to be Wok D Lite. I swear, I go there about 3 times a week. Its cheap and they give you alot of food. Its really good too.
Why not just hop on the beltway and go to Berraile ? The shrimp in mayonnaise crust at Sinh Sinh is really good. It's on the other menu, of course. You can go to Tan Tan or Santong Snacks or whatever. There's a place for Peking Duck there too - I forget.
I know this is a little late but Cafe Taipei is really good and the price is good also. Everything is always super fresh.
Have you guys tried Hunan Plus? Some good cheap asian food. (notice I did not say authentic, but sometimes i'm in the mood for americanized chinese lunch food too)
i missed this..sorry.. i like Dong Tin. it's in the Kroger strip center on Memorial Dr. between Dairy Ashford and Kirkwood. it's the best chinese food around here, I think...and i eat the General Tso's there at least once a week.
I just want to sy hi to all my neighbors, I too live at Beltway 8 at Briar Forest. But I'm not too particular about my chinese food, it's all good to me; I don't think I ever had any I didn't like as long as it's nah too hah. And, I never have it delivered so I wouldn't know. Any one of the 10 chinese restaurants within 10 minutes of the house is fine. But jlaw718 , for dine-in I like the Hunan Emperor in the Latern Lane Center about a half mile east of the beltway on Memorial. I don't know when chinese entre's went to $8.95 but that seems like it's standard now. For mass quantities I go to the all you can eat place on Westheimer just west of the beltway. I can't remember the name because we always jokingly refer to it as "Chinese Vegas" because it is so glitzy. (General Tso's..fried chicken in sugar sauce , mmmmmmm!)
There is a PF Changs on Westheimer Im sure you know about. I think there is a place called China Garden (I think thats what its called) that is off Gessner I believe. Good grub and pretty cheap too.
Oh yeah, the Pang Tai Bistro on Westheimer just east of Wilcrest is pretty cool. You order your meat and sauce and then go fill up a bowl with whatever veggies and mushrooms you want. Then you give it to the cook to throw in the wok. Very fresh and you get exactly the mix of stuff you want. The interior is very classy too, I'd say it is a great place to take a date.
I know its not Chinese but there is a Nit Noi on Dairy Ashford just south of I-10 has really good thai. Man could I go for some Pad Thai today!!!
Oh yeah, Dubious, I know the place. It's the buffet that's located next to the Hollywood Video on Westheimer, on the south side of the street. You're right about the glitzy-ness. Good stuff. Thanks for the heads-up.
Sam, do a search for my post about food snobs who falsely interpret authenticity with being better food. You could learn a lot. By the way - don't ask for the shrimp fried rice while you're in some small chinese village next month.
take a short ride to bellaire and get the General Tso's at Lai Lai's Dumpling house ($5.95 or $6.95). you can probably feed 4 people with it and its pretty darn tasty
China View at I-10 and wilcrest is pretty good. Its in the La Quinta parking lot. The buffet is pretty good, but they say the entrees are some of the best in town. The place is highly recommended by a lot of reviewers.
