Just got back to Austin from Dallas.

I've only been to 2 games at the American Airlines Center: Game 2 of this series, and tonight's game.

We had a row of 10 seats we ordered off of eBay and we were all so excited. Man, what a disappointment. The fans were going crazy the entire game, as they should have been, and we we were all just kind of sitting there slouched in our chairs wearing our red t-shirts.

The worst part was walking out of the arena back to the parking lot after the game, especially compared to Game 2 where we were all going crazy and the Dallas fans were all in shock. The tables completely turned on us for this game, and all the Houston fans were getting heckled, and the worst part was we couldn't really say anything. I mean we lost by 40 points, what's there to say?

Oh well, there's always next season. :(

Damn dude thanks for making the trip and representing the Rockets in baby D.

I had contemplated heading up there this weekend for the game but not having tickets and not knowing any Rockets fans wanting to make the trip kinda did me in. Also mother's day on Sunday meant I'd have had to have made the late night stroll home as you did.

All told thanks for your effort if only the 10 players not named Yao or McGrady had matched it....

You are a true fan my friend.

Success would never taste as sweet if there wasn't failure to compare it to. I can assure you the Rockets will definitely win a championship before those Mother Freakin Floppers in Dallas.

haha. I wore my red YAO jersey and accidentally walked up on the Mavs pep rally before I got in the arena. They were booing me like crazy and I just kept popping my jersey. Then some male Mavs fan painteed blue wearing a female's bikini came up to me and started running smack on me. If that's what it takes to be a Mavs fan....

I can say one thing, I've never seen a crowd as intense as the AAC crowd was last night. It was just insane how loud and energetic they were. And the place was PACKED 20 minutes before tipoff. I tip my hat to the Mavs for that...but, the Rockets will STILL win a title before they do.

That was one of the worst things I have ever had to experience....so excited that I flew up from austin for the game, had good seats, and we just didn't give me anything to cheer about. Great season rockets, but that one is going to hurt me for a long time, nothing can prepare you for walking out of a stadium wearing a Rockets jersey after a 40 point game 7 loss. words cant explain how i felt

I was in a box there last night, and I tell you what, those fans are absolutely CLASSLESS!! CLASSLESS AHOLES! They were so rude, they kept calling Mutumbo a stupid African, and many other immature things. I hope they rot in hell in the second round, I hate Dallas!

After reading the posts of cwebbster and SirCharlesFan I am a bit surprised at some of the things you guys said. Me and two of my buddies aware at the game and we really never had any problems with any Mavs fans. There shouted things like "Houston sucks" or "go back to Houstonâ€, etc but nothing out of the ordinary. In fact after the game when they did see us most of them told us we had a good season. I guess we were lucky or something. I actually thought they were fairly classy and I thought we (at least me and my friends) gave Mavs fans a harder time after game 6. Well here is what I observed at the game last night:

    1) After hearing for the past two weeks about how loud and great Mavs fans are at the American Airlines Center, all I have to say is that I was not that impressed. I felt like our crowd in game 6 was louder than the Mavs crowd in game 7. Like our crowd the announcer had to tell them to stand up and cheer and my personal favorite "louder...louder".

    2) The Mavs announcer is also just as corny as ours. They also have a bunch of fat guys come out and dance similar to the Tundra dancers. So I don’t really get all the hype about how Mark Cuban has done a great job with the entertainment between breaks.

    3) Even though we lost by 40 pts, being at the game I realized (and I am sure people watching on TV could tell as well) that the team NEVER gave up. I was really proud that they kept on fighting when it seemed that absolutely nothing was going right.

I am really proud of our team and even the fans in general. It seems that this city really pulled together for this team. We have such a bright future and as others have stated if we can just get another PF and maybe a decent draft pick then we should be right there with the Spurs and Suns fighting it out for the western conference championship.

Also to any Mavs fans that did give us crap all you have to say is two words..."TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS". They have absolutely no answer to that since the only banner hanging from their rafter is one of a division champion from 1987 or 1988.

As much as I hate the Suns I hope they crush the Mavs so that flopper from Germany and J. Howard can join the Rockets and watch the playoffs from their couches.

Just got back from Dallass 15 minutes ago. My experience was very similar to franchise23. We started out at Dick's on the West End, which did nothing but perpetuate the Dallas redneck stereotype. There were some f'n cretins in there. They couldn't think of anything more creative than "go back to Houston" or "Houston sucks" or "you guys look gay in red."\

We sat in section 308, around a bunch of normal mid-20's guys that had a nice good-natured dialogue going on with us the whole game. They were cool for the most part. During the 1st quarter after a Wesley 3, I did the Bob Sura 3pointer sign, and later they returned the favor a few times. We all had a good laugh.

My buddies and I all got a good laugh at the group of 10 or so metrosexuals in front of us who showed up in striped shirts and dressy jeans to the game.

Here's a sampling of things I kept shouting to keep my sanity:

    1. "Erick Dampier's the 2nd best center in the NBA!"
    2. "Weee don't make excuuuuses" - in my best Avery accent
    3. "1986-87 Midwest Division Champs! Woohoo!" - in reference to the only Mavs banner hanging from the rafters.
    4. "Ronald Reagan was in office in 1987!"
    5. "You got rid of Nash for Dampier for $84 million!? I Nash's doing pretty good these days!"

Yeah, it was a humbling experiance walking out of there. I had my yao jersey on, and painted my face. I didnt sit down the entire game, and didnt shut up either. This morning, my voice was gone.

Anways, the fans were pretty cool except for this one dude behind me, who kept shouting f*ck houston. I told him there were kids around us, asked him to tone it down, and his punk ass wanted to fight. My buddy and I, and a few other fans diffused it. Aside from that one guy, it was cool. Nice arena, too. Oh, and beers were only 5 bucks. :D

Hey man, we ran into you and your buddies last night after the game when you said you wanted to see what people on ClutchFans had to say about the game. There were about 11 of us in red t-shirts, I was the guy with the "3" symbol on the back of my t-shirt.

    There's always next season! :)

I can only imagine you felt at least 40 times worse than I felt after the game was over, and I was only watching at home. I so wanted to punch Dirk Niwitzky and Mark Cuban for some reason. We didn't bring it and lost but I still hate these two guys.

What does that have to do with Basketball?

You compare teams in the same sport.

I gotta admit though, the Astros are dragging the city down:eek:
