Jason Kidd or Steve Francis could average a Triple Double if they crashed the boards way more than they already do , Kidd might be able to do it but Francis doesnt pass as much As Kidd . Cy Young's 511 career victories will NEVER be broken. The pitchers nowadays don't pitch enough innings and starts to even come close to 30 wins a year. 20 Wins is considered GREAT these days. How about the Denver Nuggets scoring 100 points in EVERY game of the NBA regular season back in the early 80's? Alex English...Kiki Vandeweigh...those guys could light it up... Also, back in 1983, the Pistons beat the Nuggets 189-186, the highest scoring game in NBA history 189-186!! I would vote for Cal Ripken's consecutive game streak. At least in the 80's it seemed like there were quite a few iron-men (Steve Garvey, Eddie Murry, Cal) who played all 162 games. Today with so mosh specialization, players not playing hurt, free agency which limits loyalty (which definetely kept Cal in the lineup thru some bad streaks), and just being lucky enough to go that many years with out any injury make si very tough. Also I don't know who holds the record but I can't see any modern day pitcher throwing more ininings the the old-timers who pitched every third day and was expected to throw 9 innings. Now a days a guy who throws 220 innings is considered a horse! Use to be 300 ininigs.
It is Cy's record, never ever ever will that be broken. The 56 game hitting streak and the Dolphins record are very attainable compared to 511. ------------------
Didn't Wilt AVERAGE 50 points a game one year? I'd say that's pretty untouchable. Not being much of a baseball fan, I'd never heard of Cy Young's record. That one sounds pretty solid too. ------------------
In a biased momment, Nolan Ryan's 5,800 some Odd K's will be very tough to break. And playing in 4 decades over 27 years? wow, but that might be boken. If Cy young's records falls, it would probably fall to someone who was K master. So I think both would fall at about roughly the same time. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
