Well, looks like it finally got leaked. A full pic of the Xbox 360, together with a controller and a Eye-toy like camera, is now out on the internet. Enjoy: http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000490042605/
How about something smaller. That thing looks as big as the last one. My x-box is starting fail me right now, has hard time reading discs, when is it coming out?
You know the first time I saw a PS2 in a magazine I thought it was HUGE! When I saw it in stores I thought it was smaller than I first thought.. I had the exact opposite experience with the first Xbox..
Yay...the remote has an on/off switch! I didn't think it was too much to ask the first time around to have one.
Going by this pic... They don't seem that big according to that image. Probably around the size of the S-Controller. If Microsoft doesn't offer a black version, I'm sure you could probably add some black (or any other color) some other way. It sounded like Microsoft really wants people to customize their consoles, and there are those console skins you could always get. Fall 2005, and it seems that November is the target month (anniversary of Xbox launch IIRC). About the size of the console. I too thought it was much bigger than what Microsoft had been saying, but it could be due to the conditions. Using the disc drive for help, it seems as though you could assume that it is around the size of a PS2 and smaller than the Xbox. Who knows though... Personally, I don't particularly like the design of the console that much. Pretty bland, IMO. Of course, like I mentioned earlier, that can be fixed if Microsoft wants you to customize it. The remote is ok I guess, and I do like the controller. The thing behind the controller does look a little awkward though. I like the "X" button too, which has been rumored for a little while. So overall, Microsoft has done better than the Xbox, but considering how sleek and cool Sony can make their products, it may not win over many due to its design, IMO. edit: Here are some attempts to see how big the console is:
AREN'T WE supposed to go SMALLER? no wonder I don't buy this pees o sh*t xBox... see: ps2 LEARN, b*tches... learn...
Like I said earlier, I don't know how accurate that image is in guessing how big the Xbox 360 is. It seems like it could be PS2-esque in size; it will certainly be smaller than the Xbox, unless something is VERY wrong. As long as it wasn't bigger than the Xbox, I probably wouldn't have too much of a problem with a console, or really any design whatsoever since I will be more focused on what the console produces, not how it looks. As seen by the Unreal Tournament graphics, games will be looking pretty nice, and the Xbox 360 supposedly is handling the Unreal Engine with ease, which it should. Also, I wouldn't doubt it if the PS3 was bigger than the PS2. It would be too difficult to cram all that power (Cell, Nvidia GPU, Blu-ray, or whatever they come up with, into a small box) into a small box. At least this time around, Microsoft will have a much easier time reducing the size of parts and could probably come up with a XBOXthreesixty or something like that which they couldn't do this current gen (or at least not easily). All that said, I'm not necessarily opposed to Xbox/Microsoft hating for any possible reason, even if it may or may not be true. And at least it doesn't look like this:
I really dont give a crap what it looks like. It's all about how it plays and, from what I have seen so far, this thing will ROCK!!!
I want that special edition Pikachu ultimate super cool gaming system. I wonder if I can play pokemon games on it, that would be so awesome.
that controller looks like a sh!tty pc controller, well it is microsoft.... i could care less what the actual system looks like, my xbox is one of the crappiest designs i've ever seen but i LOVE it. i'm excited about this new one but i'm not gonna buy it until i see what sony releases. of course the above changes if halo 3 is some kind of surprise launch title or something.
