Who would you rather have on the Rockets? Both are head cases with "potential"?

My preference EG. He seems like he's matured while playing with the T.Wolves, and I am sure KG has looked out for him.

Just draft Ron Turiaf -- almost equal talent, much smarter and will cost much less for years to come.

EG might be the better fit....can put him anywhere on the front court, depending on the matchup. Shoots 3's, which is good for a PF on this team. He also shoots (at) other things, so I don't know how long it'd take him to get into trouble with his local beeyotch(es).

Aren't Hakim Warrick and Wayne Simien predicted to be around where we're picking?

    EFF + 7.79
    Position: F-C

    Height: 6-11
    Weight: 243 lbs.

    Eddie Griffin
    2004-05
    Statistics
    PPG 7.5
    RPG 6.50
    APG .8
    EFF + 11.10
    Position: F

Looks like EG has a slight edge in stats; but, Kwame can play C also which I like. Besides I think EG will stay with the TWolves if he can. Kwame is definitely looking and his price just went way down.

You would be better off with Reggie Evans. Does not want to shoot and loves to rebound.

He's matured into a mediocre player who just posted his worst season ever.

I sound like a broken record, but he sucks. He can't shoot aside from the occasional three pointer, is a horrific defensive player who gets torched by opposing 4's (a few weakside shot blokcs /= good defense) - and basically was invisible after the first two months of the season. If not for a lucky 3 point shooting streak back in november and december his numbers would look much much worse.

As for playing "good basketball", see above. As for quitting on his team - at least he waited till the playoffs. Eddie quit on houston in preseason.

Forget EG. Fortunately, the Rox are the one team in the NBA he has no chance of ever playing for. Just because we didn't see any smoke in Minneapolis this year doesn't mean he is on the right track forever.

The teams that contend and win championships have players who play hard and (usually) have their head screwed on straight. If EG was a fanatic demon on the court, I'd say give it a shot. But he is a head case with no heart; that's two strikes. Kwame could turn out to be a good player. He must get out of Washington and start new somewhere. If he would take $3-4 million/yr for 4 years, I'd put him on my roster. He has more upside in his game than EG ever will.

I don't think Ryan Bowen wants to shoot either. And as scary as it is, the thought of Reggie Evans having to take those 15 foot looks Bowen gets is horrifying.

Stromile Swift on the other hand.... ;)

As far as the topic, I'll take Kwame. Eddie's yet to shoot better than 33% behind the arc or 40% from the field. For a role player, I'd much prefer a more efficient player. Don't think either of them will be playing with McGrady and Yao next year.

It just scares the hell of me that we don't have anybody that can back-up center. If either Yao or Deke goes down for any length of time the other one can't go more than thirty minutes and having Jho as a center would be a joke. IMO KB would come cheaper than 4M and is some insurance since he is an F-C.

BTW since when did JHo become the second coming of a real PF. Yes, he did step up a bit, but he barely edged out these other 2 in stats and probably played more minutes. IMO we could get Donyell Marshall to start and Jho to back him up. Pick up KB to swing between F-C, maybe a S&T for one of our expiring contracts.

If there's anybody that can turn Kwame around, it's Van Gundy. Despite his numerous problems, I wouldn't mind the Rockets taking a chance on him for a cheap price...wouldn't happen, though...At least he's never used drugs or been in jail...

EG is better, Kwame is one of the worst draft selections.

Why isn't there a neither option? Are you crazy for the Rockets to pick those two?
