I live in the Beaumont area. I grew up listening to Gene Petersen and Jim Foley doing Rocket's radio broadcast live on KTRH 740 AM out of Houston. KTRH has a very strong signal and comes in loud and clear in Beaumont. Since KTRH doesn't have the Rockets contract anymore, I have not been able to find any stations in the Beaumont area that broadcast the game. 950 or whatever station it is out of Houston does not have a strong enough signal to reach Beaumont. As I mentioned in another thread I have to work the graveyard shift tonight (6PM to 6 AM) so I will not be able to see the game on TV. At least I still get to listen to Milo doing Astros games on KTRH!
No the signal is not strong enough. When I drive to Houston I start getting the 610 signal when I get to about Anahuac. I would love it if 610 would start broadcasting as strong a signal as KTRH. It is really an awsome station.
