I've never listen to it before. I've heard it but I have never really paid attention to the whole thing. I will give it a shot today though. Anyone else going to listening? Are you a big fan of it? I overheard a couple of people talking about it the other day and they were excited. They were acting like it was the biggest day of the year and they just couldn't wait. Is it really that popular?
Jim Rome is so played out. Now every idiot that has every written an elementary school essay about anything slightly sports related thinks they are Jim Rome. Around the Horn has to be the most obnoxious show ever. All they do is try to yell at each other and talk crap but they completely suck at it.
I'll probably listen off and on. There are a couple callers that I enjoy hearing. It's also fun to hear the noobs to the smack-off meltdown. Hopefully Rachel in H-town will represent.
i till listen to Rome, but for the interviews only ...say what you will about him, but he is *usually* a good interviewer all the "running of smack" got old about 4 years ago
What a disappointment. I'm taking half a day of vacation so I'll be commuting at lunchtime and it would have been the rare occasion that I'm in the car when Rome's on (a rare occasion is all I can take from him, but will listen when I get the chance). So much for that idea. Glad I brought my iPod with me to work today.
Except for saying "We're talking with so and so..." after every answer. I actually prefer Dan Patrick as an interviewer. I think he gets much better answers and doesn't sound like he's reading his questions.
And I'm pretty sure it's Cablanasian. Cabalasian would be a small, secret group of conspiratorial Asians.
His Texas wedding bit was pretty funny, but he clearly had a nervousness about his voice. Rome has no patience for that.
Terrence is my fave so far. His call was funny and totally bizarre. The best call I have heard in awhile.
