Anyone notice the delays when you post a message to the time it actually appears in the thread? I have been experiencing this in the last month or so only on this forum. What is going on with this forum? Why are messages taking so long to appear? Something is flaky and needs to be fixed. Surf ------------------
My username and password don't appear automatically the first time I post. I have to type them in, then its fine. Never used to do that. ------------------ When we tire of well-worn ways, we seek for new. i know that here at work, we have a proxy server that only goes and gets the latest pages every couple of hours or when I hit shift+reload which over rides the server. you might want to post your question in the feedback forum. rH ------------------ The Psychedelic Groove House of Rockets Basketball Love!
Did you somehow change your preferences Bob? ------------------ Someon who is about to admonish another must realize within himself five qualities before doing so (that he may be able to say), thus: In due season will I speak, not out of season. In truth will I speak, not in falsehood. Gently will I speak, not harshly. To his profit will I speak, not to his loss. With kindly intent will I speak, not in anger. -from the Vinaya Pitaka

Yeah...something about work is screwing me over, too...rockHEAD. My browser isn't configured to use a proxy server. I don't know what it could be. My posts show up immediately...it's just all you foreigners. Doesn't happen at home, though. Weird. Surf ------------------
If any of you are using Mac's and/or Internet Explorer, it is a problem with the way they interact with proxy servers run by your ISP. It happens to me on occassion. Netscape appears to be immune to the problem but ONLY after you hit RELOAD on the specific threads. On Explorer, REFRESH doesn't help. Bob: You may not get your name there anymore if you have been on the board for a year. From what I understand, after 1 year, your name and password are no longer stored and you have to enter them. Me too! And I'll tell you what is wrong with this forum! There's not enough women posting. I mean seriously! ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.
Um...I have a question for ChenZhen: Are you male or female? I'm just curious, cuz you've given mixed signals (or am I reading these signals correctly?) ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
I still can't see any new messages...not even my own...from work. I'll tell ya...if this is going to be how...umm...it's going to be, then I may have to find a new job. This doesn't work. When I use a forum, I have to get the updated posts. It's like me telling a business user that he will not get his sales report until tomorrow when they should be available today. It just doesn't fly. This is bull**** and I'm ****ing pissed off. Surf ------------------
Bob, this is your anniversary month. In your initial registration, you most likely selected the option to save password in your browser. However, that only persists for one year. Select the "Preferences" option up above, and you should be able to set it for another year, again. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited February 13, 2001).]
