"Looks" like Kwame was irked over no playing time and basically quit, and Washington just suspended him for the playoffs. No way he's back next year. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2005/news/story?id=2052486
no way JVG wants any part of that. i wouldnt mind but i think we can do better. my guess is the rockets draft one of the 15 PF's expected to go in the first round. our MLE will go to upgrading backcourt size and speed (wesley).
Yeesh, what kind of a loser quits on his team during the playoffs. I want to know how big that contract extension was that he turned down. Whatever it is, I doubt he'll get a similar deal from anybody else.
Meanwhile, his counterpart on the other side (Tyson Chandler), is playing with a bum ankle, coming off the bench in back of Othella freakin' Harrington, and had to have his dislocated finger pushed back in while on the bench the other night.
If we could get him for a good price I would like it, but ONLY for a good price.. someone will pay him and take a chance... why not toss him 2-4 mill a year for 3-5 years??
It depends. If a team is stupid enough to offer him a fat six year contract based on that ever popular "P" word, then Washington won't match it. Of course, he might have ruined his reputation enough to the point where he won't get offered a big contract, which might tempt Washington to match the other team's contract offer and try to trade him next season...
His attitude sucks, and I don't want the Rockets taking a chance on him... but Kwame Brown will become an effective NBA player, and possibly an all-star, before his NBA career is over.
Just paying Brown would be overpaying him. He's worse than Mark Blount. The only discernable basketball skill he has is decent shooting for a big man, and he hasn't improved much since being drafted (I know he's been injured). He has the physical tools to be decent, but with his attitude problem I think at this point that people have to realize that he's a disaster.
PEw was his position coach. What did Ewing think of this guy? If he reports positive then yes, KB could be a Rock. My guess is that Isaih is going to try to corral him.
There's a similar topic on a sports writer site I go to, and so I'll kind of repeat what I'm guessing ... While Kwame would seem to be a good fit with a team like the Nets (despite his terrible hands), it probably won't work. If you talk to Brown and his reps, they seem to think he's worth much more than the mid-level exemption, and that ATL/CHA will break the bank for him. They could, but only after Curry/Chandler go elsewhere. Most likely, the Nets and teams like New Jersey will offer a portion of the MLE (or, in the Nets' case, the trade exemption in a sign-and-trade), Kwame will turn it down, and the Nets will move on to other bigs. Then Kwame may have to come crawling back, and by then it will be too late. He better try to make good with Ernie Grunfeld tout suite, so Ernie will help him with a sign-and-trade.
I seriously don't know much about Kwame..but it seems like he's a bust if he can't play over the other guys the Wizards are playing. The guys the Wizards have are decent guys..but man Kwame can'teven play over them? We don't need that if he sucks like that...or is it his attitude? Anyone know anything about him? I don't.. Tyson Chandler..still seems all right to me..would fit well as backup to Juwan Howard..maybe eventually take starting position..and we could get Badiane here too..two athletic big guys with Yao..and plus Tyson is friends with Yao..anyone know anything bad or good about Chandler? I like him. Who knows thoguh..maybe Kwame would fit well with us. They are all possibilities..and I like the Rockets' possibilities. Like...RAY ALLEN! That would be sweeeeeeet

Curry, Tyson will be bulls next year. There playing pretty good ball for a team without 2 of there key players (Curry, Leng). Playoff victories always help the team trying to keep their fa's. Bulls are on the way up. I was watching the wiz and bulls play, and Kwame is pretty good. Very good frist step, very quick, puts it on the floor, and a nice 15 footer. If he could put it all together, he could be a all-star. Hes got the talent, just not the effort to make it happan. But were see what a new team can do for players. aka vince carter
Kwame, let's see, he is 7'0", 270lbs yet is a HUGE question mark as to what kind of player he will eventually become. Who will take the gamble? who would pay their FULL MLE money on him and not blink? New York? Ah yes.
