Old paint on canvas, as it ages, sometimes becomes transparent. When that happens it is possible in some pictures, to see the original lines: a tree will show through a woman's dress, a child makes way for a dog, a large boat is no longer on an open sea. That is called pentimento because the painter "repented," changed his mind. Perhaps it would be as well to say that old conceptions, replaced by a later choice, is a way of seeing and then seeing again. The paint has aged now and I want to see what was there for me once, what is there for me now. Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing is so gentle as real strength. If you don't expect the unexpected you'll never find it. How you deal with love is how you deal with you, and all our hearts feel the same pains and joys, even if our lives and ways are different. Real support is when we help one another see beyond someone's errors, to drop our judgments and see the love that lies beyond. Only if one is happy from within can we find happiness with another. There is a time and place for everyone of us. We have all been gifted with the ability to make a difference, we have the power to shape our future, as we become aware of ourselves. To love and be loved it is the greatest happiness in life. It is better to have loved once in our lifetime than never to have loved at all. Some search a lifetime for miracles. All I ask for is...one. Anonymous ------------------ "Breaking up is hard to do...[with] everyone trying to make it a parting befitting all the professionalism that came before. Like Joan of Ark you must be brave and listen to your heart. Imagination is essential to creative art. So look into your mind and use what you may find. The answer lies behind your eyes, its not that far. Lene Lovich ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.

For Heypartner and DC. THEN Almitra spoke again and said, And what of Marriage master? And he answered saying: You were born together, and together you shall be for evermore. You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days. Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God. But let there be spaces in your togetherness. And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another, but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow. Kahlil Gilbran ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.

"To be governed is to be watched over, inspected, spied on, directed, legislated, regimented, closed in, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, assessed, evaluated, censored, commanded; all by creatures that have neither the right, nor wisdom, nor virtue.... To be governed means that at every move, operation, or transaction one is noted, registered, entered in a census, taxed, stamped, priced, assessed, patented, licensed, authorized, recommended, admonished, prevented, reformed, set right, corrected. Government means to be subjected to tribute, trained, ransomed, exploited, monopolized, extorted, pressured, mystified, robbed; all in the name of public utility and the general good. Then, at the first sign of resistance or word of complaint, one is repressed, fined, despised, vexed, pursued, hustled, beaten up, garroted, imprisoned, shot, machine-gunned, judged, sentenced, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed, and to cap it all, ridiculed, mocked, outraged, and dishonored. That is government, that is its justice and its morality! ... O human personality! How can it be that you have cowered in such subjection for sixty centuries?" -- Pierre-Joseph Proudhon ------------------ Big A, little a bouncing B, The System might have got you, but it won't get me.

Love is patient, Love is kind, it does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres. It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man. ---- One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh, no," I said. "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late. ---- Too bad you can't buy a voodoo globe so that you could make the earth spin real fast and freak everybody out. ---- The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face. ---- To me, boxing is like a ballet, except there's no music, no choreography, and the dancers hit each other. ---- To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad. ---- If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason. ---- You know what would make a good story? Something about a clown who make people happy, but inside he's real sad. Also, he has severe diarrhea. ---- If you're a horse, and someone gets on you, and falls off, and then gets right back on you, I think you should buck him off right away. ---- If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy. ---- If you go parachuting, and your parachute doesn't open, and you friends are all watching you fall, I think a funny gag would be to pretend you were swimming. ---- Children need encouragement. If a kid gets an answer right, tell him it was a lucky guess. That way he develops a good, lucky feeling. ---- The crows seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw. ---- Whether they find a life there or not, I think Jupiter should be called an enemy planet. ---- I can't stand cheap people. Man, quit being so cheap! ---- I bet a fun thing would be to go way back in time to where there was going to be an eclipse and tell the cave men, "If I have come to destroy you, may the sun be blotted out from the sky." Just then the eclipse would start, and they'd probably try to kill you or something, but then you could explain about the rotation of the moon and all, and everyone would get a good laugh. ---- JACK HANDEY ------------------ STROSHOW FOREVER!!!
