Astros TV play by play man, Bill Brown, mentioned this during the final game of the Cubs series (Sunday).

Lance is expected to join the team in Atlanta (on Thursday or Friday) assuming all goes well with him while playing for RR between now and Wednesday without any set backs. So far so good - in the two games against Oklahoma (4/30 and 5/1) he has looked very good.

Round Rock Express will travel to New Orleans (Zephyrs) to play a four game series starting Monday (5/2).

This is welcome news; who gets sent down? Luke?

I actually only discovered minorleaguebaseball.com this year, after being frustrated by the lack of box scores on the Express and Hooks team websites.

Now, I'm on there everyday seeing how all the minor league affiliates are doing... Round Rock, Corpus, Salem, and Lexington.

Baseball is truly a great game, because you really can almost see how the entire game went just by looking at a box score. The same cannot be said about football or baskebtall, unless you have the actual play by play recap... but baseball's box scores are sometimes pure poetry.

Anyways, Lance looks great at the plate now, but he'll still need time to re-adjust to major league pitching... so the sooner he gets to come back, the sooner we'll get thru the adjustment period, and thus the sooner we'll be to having an actual MLB lineup again.

That sentiment is mutual. I find myself checking our minorleague teams via this great website almost on a daily basis. It really helps to know how our young arms are doing as well as our rivals (Cubs and Cards).

Talking about our minor league players, what is wrong with Chalton Jimerson and Taylor Buchholz? They are struggling (from my vantage point) and it looks like injury induced struggles (or other physical issues). Talking about injuries, I heard that Wandy Rodriguez has some sort of injury that is hindering him. I heard this from an Astros front office personel on ESPN 790 (name I cannot recall) last week Thursday or thereabout.

Absolukely! :D Scott needs to get his ab's, not sit on the bench. He's got the potential, he just needs seasoning. I like the way the ball comes off his bat when he makes contact. In 2 years I see our line up as: Berkman 1b, Burke 2b, Evert ss, ? 3b, Scott rf, Travaras cf, Lane lf & ? c. That will be a fun line up.

That Evert guy is pretty good, but Travaras is gonna be the real star.

    :D

IMO, it will defininetly be Luke Scott. There will have to be 2 moves this week. 1 to make room for Astacio (Bruntlett or ?) and another for Lance (Scott).

Hopefully he's in better shape than after letting it go during the offseason...Yeah, Yeah, knee surgery, but c'mon, don't make the battle that much harder...

He'll be an adventure in the field and on the bases for awhile, folks who saw him in RR said he's limping noticably. Had a couple of setbacks during rehab (swelling, etc...) so this isn't too unexpected.

Berk said he's very comfortable from the left side of the plate, not so much RH.

You might check out baseballamerica.com A bunch of the articles are "pay" only, however, the stats and scoreboard are free.

Jimmerson is basically an athlete trying to play baseball. K'd 168 times last year while hitting .238 Not sure if that one is gonna pan out for us.
