Somehow I watch the first "Nightmare on Elm Street" movie at the age of SIX. NOT a good thing for a kindergartener to being watching. So Freddy was all up in my nightmares for a while there.

Surprisingly, I turned out not normal...

No, but does anybody remember "Student Bodies?" I saw this movie once a long time ago, haven't been able to see it since. I can only remember the part where the killer, "the Breather," is looking through a kitchen drawer for weapon and he passes up all the butcher knives and cleavers only to pick a paperclip. Then as he walks up the stairs, it's from his POV of course, his breathing becomes labored and he says "All these stairs!" and then he puts his hand on a wad of gum "I'm gonna kill the kid with the gum....Surgarless."

    13 1/2 Murders, LMAO.

I remember that movie! Freaky dolls. I think all guys hate dolls. My nephew won't go in the room where my wife has these stupid porcelin dolls - they creep him out. You know what? They creep me out, too.

Is that really what those things looked like? They are a lot scarier in my memory. I think they need to make hissing noises in order to be scary.

    For me:
    Poltergeist
    The Omen
    Amityville Horror
    various Twilight Zone episodes
....and for some reason, Willie Wonka and the Chocalate Factory used to creep me out...

I used to have this intense fear of ventriloquist dolls. I remember this old Twilight Zone episode in which the dummy actually "swaps places" with the ventriloquist - in other words, the dummy becomes the human ventriloquist and the ventriloquist has been turned into the dummy.

    shivers

Another one that to this day, I will refuse to watch if it is on TV (well at least this scene) is "Pet Sematery". The part where that blonde headed woman who was in Star Trek: The Next Generation (I think - it was one of the Star Trek series) opens the door to this room in this really creepy house and her deformed sister Zelda jumps up out of the bed and confronts her. Damn, that whole scene was just so freaky. I can watch "The Shining" all the way through, even the scene with Jack in 227, and not have any problems but that scene from "Pet Sematery"? No way, not even today.

When I was in elementary school, the school would pass out fliers one day of the year to warn the kids to be careful of a gang called the Smurfs, who were apparently out for revenge for some infraction against them (I want to say Papa Smurf was murdered but I can't remember too well). It was, apparently, just a joke, but I thought this was seriously a gang (one that thought it'd be funny to name themselves after the Smurfs) that was out to kill people. Not too cool; what the hell were they thinking?

My older sister had an affection for Raggedy Ann and Andy when she was little. So, one summer while us kids were gone to France (visiting relatives), my dad painted a big mural of Raggedy Ann and Andy on her bedroom wall. She was real happy with it when we got back. But, then she found that when she turned the lights off, she had these big scarecrow looking things staring at her with their giant eyes in the gloom of the night. Even so, it was years before my dad painted over it -- which is too bad because she's grown and out of the house now, so why not have a mural instead of a white wall?

The neighbor's had a mounted fox on their mantle. The neighbor girl (my age) was convinced that the eyes moved and that it was possesed (yes this "psycho" was my childhood "girlfriend" and ended up in rehab and pretty messed up).

I believed her and was terrified to go into her living room.

another friend had a handicapped sister that they "kept" in a room. I was terrified to go near that room. Looking back I really feel sorry for the girl -- I never saw her leave that room.

I was terrified after seeing Bigfoot in the TV show Six-Million Dollar Man. The Sleestak's on the other hand never bothered me, maybe they just moved to slow to be scary.

holy crap!!! i forgot about that one!!! honestly, among the creepiest scenes ever recorded. i hate that. like you, i can't watch that.

the other scene from pet sematary that creeps me out is the funeral for the little boy...when the family fights and knocks over the little boy's coffin. something immensely disturbing about that.

anytime you jack with innocence..pervert it...especially in a child...i'm freaked.

I think it is just their slow, deliberate relentlessness that made them creepy.

If you really want to scare the crap out of your sister, perhaps cause long term damage, You let her stay up and watch something like poltergesit, then sneak under her bed and wait. As she gets into bed grab her leg. You will never hear a blood curdling scream like it ever again.

The eyes..... Those horrible, giant, inhuman, black eyes....

What a great show. They start off by throwing a bunch of stuff at you that makes no sense at all, and then, as you try to piece things together, they just continue to throw more confusing stuff at you.

Burt Reynolds used to scare the crap out of me, with his moustache and fetish for Sally Fields.
