Currently I live 3/4 of a mile from the office and my commute is 2 mins.

I have an agreement to sell my house and I'm looking for a new house where teh schools are better. If you commute where do you live/work, how long does it take you one way, how many miles do you drive, do you leave early/late to avoid traffic, do you use the HOV lane.

Anyone care to share details of their commute.

Live in Spring (Cypresswood @ I-45 area) - I normally take the Hardy Toll Road or the HOV - door to door about 40-45 minutes or so.

Live in Pearland and drive to downtown...14 miles garage to garage and it takes me 20-30 minutes to get to work. I don't drive during the height of traffic though.

I find that Mondays and Fridays, the traffic is super light.

It takes me 15-20 minutes to get 6 miles in Austin around 3pm Monday thru Thurs. 25-35 minutes to do the same on a Friday.

If I were in Houston with the same commute situation (I live right off the freeway, have to Uturn, and my work is 1 stoplight off the freeway, so almost nothing but freeway travel involved) it would take me no more than 10 on any day.
