Exactly! If the sequence of events had been reversed --we would all be celebrating right now that we tied the series... I'm counting on the road team on winning the next game again
The Rockets will win the series if Yao stays out of foul trouble and the PGs get him the ball on a consistent basis. They will lose if the role players keep thinking they are much better than they really are and ignore Yao.
I believe we will win 2 out of the next 3 games! This should've been a long series anyway, winning the first two game at dallas kind of spoiled us.
We are the underdog again. I fugging love it. I was hoping we could lose game4 and get the underdog position back. I am so excited right now. Rockets in 6. Yao is due for a 40/20 game.
All right. Now that I've had a few hours to cry in my beer. Here's my take on the current situation in this series. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. Possible Scenario 1) Mavs ride wave of momentum and confidence from their game 3 and game 4 wins and win game 5 in front of a raucous home crowd. They go on to win the series in 7 if not 6. Possible Scenario 2) Tracy McGrady reflects on his past playoff mishaps, puts the Rockets on his shoulders and refuses to lose in game 5. Rockets win a tough one on the road in game 5 and close out the series in 6. Possible Scenario 3) Mavs feel they've accomplished their mission by coming back from the dead and evening the series. They let their foot off the Rockets' necks and don't come out in top form in game 5 and the Rockets steal game 5 in Dallas. Possible Scenario 4) Mavs ride wave of momentum and confidence to win game 5. Houston doesn't fold and responds with hard fought game 6 win at home setting upa war of a game 7 which goes down to the wire. Possible Scenario 5) Road court advantage. The road team continues to respond with their backs seemingly against the wall. Rockets win game 5 in Dallas, Mavs win game 6 in Houston, and Rockets close out the series on the road in game 7. The point is, anything is possible and equally likely in my opinion. You just never know how a team is going to respond to adversity (pardon the cliche). Some sulk, some come together with an us against the world mentality. The flip side is no one knows how the Mavs will respond. These aren't the Jordan Bulls we're talking about here. Its not like its routine for the Mavs to cut an opponents throat when they have them in a corner. They're no longer in a must-win position. Who knows what kind of performance they come out with in game 5? One thing is for sure. The Rockets really need Yao to stay out of foul trouble and to play with the dominance he has only shown on occasion. Not only for what he brings to the table, but because it opens up threes and driving lanes for our role players. Too often we are living and dying by McGrady's 20-footers. He's good, damn good, but all things being equal I prefer the higher percentage shots the team gets when Yao is on his game.
I still think we'll win this series in 6 games. We lost two close games, and how often is terry going to shoot like that? He had a Kenny Smith game - one of those abberation. Houston just needs to keep it's focus and execute, and play tougher D on their back court. We'll be fine, it's Dallas that is in trouble.
I believe, Yao plays 35 minutes a game the rest of the way and the role players get back on track and score 40 pts like they did in game 2. JVG needs to give T-Mac more of a blow so he can finish the 4th q strong.
Definitely beleive. The fact the we have controlled both games at home going into the final 5 minute means that we lost the game mentally. I think playing at home, on the final stretch, they start to lose their composure. It happens very often, when your on the homerun stretch, so eager to show the fans in Houston that you are finally gonna win at home, that you forget to execute. There is no doubt in my mind that up to this point, we are the stronger team. Just play the way we play and we should at least win both the road games. I still hope the rockets can get over the home-court curse though.
We could have won the past two games if not for a few mistakes, and unlucky ball bounce and calls. So, We definitely have the talents to win the series. I believe we can win. and regardless of what happens, we had a great season. At the beginning of the seaon, many people thought we couldnt' even make the playoffs. I"m proud of our guys, i"m proud of being a Rockets fan. and I believe!!!! Go Rockets!
and you know what the best part is? Once we get past the Mavs and the refs, sky's the limit. Not to get too far ahead of ourselves especially at a time where we just lost two at home, but the Mavs and refs combo probably the second deadly-est in the West after Spurs and Dun.
