"Keeping it Close" is not going to be easy. If you read comments from Denver's players today, they are talking about needing to speed the game up, get their transition going etc....this is the NBA playoffs, the games get slower, not faster as the series progress. They are not going to be able to run, they don't have a half court game to speak of - Where are there points going to come from? Unless the Spurs just suck in another game, or if Duncan's ankle acts up, this series will be over in 5.
Ok now I REALLY want Denver to win... Sheesh talk about cocky. And yeah, when the Spurs play good they usually win, that makes sense. Too bad they also have a propensity to CHOKE at key moments...
Unlike you guys, I don't have a problem with the team. And I've never checked out their boards. The few that came to the Nugs boards I scan were pretty cool, have talked ball. This guy however is a real winner.
The Nuggets are like the Grizz, but with better players. They lack a superstar to lead them to the next level. It's too bad Carmelo doesn't seem to be the guy to step up. Oh well, maybe next year. He's still young. I knew he was gonna take a step back in the playoffs.
Hey Nugs4, the refs are screwing your boys as well. Boykins clearly made a big three pointer, only for the refs to call it a 2.
Anthony has really come up big. boykins getting double teamed. and it all comes down to Tim Duncan right now. This is gonna be interesting.
This Spurs team does have a weakness. They lack killer instinct. They may have the best team in the league, but they are not invincible.
Anthony stepped up big time tonight. Not sure how you can criticize him. Officiating was awful. At least it was awful both ways though. Just inconsistent as hell. Frustrating. Ugh, I seriously feel sick. This damn team is gonna give me an ulcer.
Hang in there Nuggets4. We know how you feel. the biggest differance is that houston still has a shot, and that houston blew a 2-0 advantage.
I never thought the Nugs would win this series (although, I will admit when we won game 1, the thought briefly crossed my mind in the adrenaline rush). I'm just dissappointed that we haven't played Nuggets basketball yet. Some of it is due to the Spurs, yes, but we peaked too early. The last 5 games of the season or so, we went downhill. Even before the Houston game, we were showing some cracks. I'm definately in the trade Nene and Boykins for a 2-guard camp right now though.
Carmelo stepped it up finally. Maybe next year he will keep his head on straight, put it together and take a step up to the next level. I'm rooting for him. He probably will never be a superstar, but with George Karl coaching the team, 'Melo can become good enough to lead the Nuggets to contender status.
I don't mean any disrespect to the Nuggets, but how exactly did they win 95% of their games down the stretch? Were teams just too lazy to get back on defense or deny the lob passes? I mean, they have no 3 point shooters whatsoever, and barely any consistent postgame. Kudos to them for doing what they did with what they had.
We didn't play Nuggets basketball in the playoffs. About a week before the Rockets game, you could feel the team getting TOO confident and not hustling anymore. SA shut us down perfectly though. Gotta give them props.
