How exactly do you start a paintball team. Me and some friends are really into it, and there are tournaments in other nearbye states. What exactly do you do, for that kind of stuff, and what type of gun to do you have?

Hmm this could be a long one.

Well first of all I guess it helps if you play often. I personally played every week(and sometimes 2, or 3 times/ week) for 5 years before my friends and i attended our first tournament. We deffinately waited too long, but that is just how it happened.

Second of all I suggest having a group of players that you trust. i mean guys(gals) that you know will not b**** out on you when it comes time to pay for the tournament and skip work to travel.
equally as important as having other players is having friends that are players. in paintball you spend entirely TOO much time together. I am currently looking forward to a 25 hour drive, followed by sharing hotel rooms and even beds with these guys(unless of course i can find a woman willing to share hers with me [IMG]) for 5 days followed with another 25 hour drive.

my team is made up of my brother, and my best friend of 10+ years. the 4th guy on the team is another great friend who I have played with for 7 years. the remaining 2 guys are the other 2 friends that could get off work for this tournament. sow we have a solid 4, and about 8 other guys who can pick up the slack.

you need a disposable income akin to that of a crack addict. ok well not really, but i feel like an addict most times. every week i shoot $40 worth of paint through my $70 hopper which sits upon my $1,000 gun which i powere with my $300 compressed air tank. I run around in about $150 worth of gear including my cleats pants, and shirt. NOT including my $100 ammo pack(harness) $100 mask, or $90 jersey.ohh and lets not forget the countles $80-$150 after market barrels [IMG]

if that gun goes down I have a back up, and still own my first 2 guns.

ok so it may sound hopeless. well its not. If you own your own gun you can start your team. first go to your local field. bring all your budies
play with the guys you like(not the best players, but the guys you like) ask 5-10 of them if they want to train as a team.

get them to start playing all on the same day. find out who else has teams at your local field. ask them if they want to practice with you (if they are way better ask if they can help you)
find out if your local field has a cheeseyt little tournament( a rec tourney) enter it and kick some ass. go to the other regional tournaments get some experience. If you start going to bigger tournaments, you will need lodging. most paintball tournays are near campgrounds. ask the organizers, because it will save you $100/ night in some cases

but for the love of god dont name your team somethign that everyone else has used. like the TERMINATORS, or RAGE, or ANARCHY

pick up action persuit games(magazine) there is some stuff in there for you.

on the web check out WARPIG (World And Regional Paintball Information Guide). it is run by Bill and Dawn Mills they are pillars in the paintball industry, and both really chill people. lots of info on their site. www.WARPIG.com

    also check out www.paintballcity.com
EVERYONE that is online and paintball is on paintball city.

check out my teams page www.hanta-force.com it is still verry much under construction, but it has quite a bit of content already. also you can E-mail me and i can give you a ton more help. my e-mail is on the site. I am Micah Kerr you will find me under players.
my AIM name is (HF cheeseboy)

I hope this helped a little if not alot. I will happily answer anyones question related to paintball.

I shoot a WORR games products '99 STO autococker with many upgrades. as a back up I have a Airgun designes Automag with a hurricane valve. I also still have 2 VM-68 semis from back in the day

man I could go on for days

    PEACE

VOR, I've only played paintball once, though it was really a blast; however what I really wanted to say in this post is that the little trail thingie that follows one's mouse on your website is AWESOME. I'm making it dance to "Hold the Line" and I will probably go to bed far too late because of it.
