One of the things I have to improve is my prayer life, I end up saying my general prayer at night and a few conversations during the day, but I feel guilty when I pray only when something goes wrong. Do you guys pray? How often?
Like the usual b*stard, only when things are going bad. The ultimate variable here is if the Rockets are playing that day.
That describes me pretty accurately. I will go through periods where I really make a consistent effort to be thankful, or pray for help letting me serve in the best way, etc. But it isn't nearly as consistent as it should be. When something goes wrong I pray 100% of the time, when things go right I'm lucky if I give thanks 60% of the time.
I don't pray everyday. I don't pray only when I need something either. I don't always think about it, but sometimes I do think about praying, and then I do so. And, that's not to say I need something then when I do. So, an "occasionaly when I think to" category would have been nice.
probably averages 1 or 2 times a day...i don't really even know if there is a higher power, but when things go bad i pray anyways, and when things go good i praise anyways.
I'm not religious at all, but every once in awhile when something cool happens that seems slightly better than coincidental, I'll say a friendly, casual "thanks." Just in case, you know.
Hey AB - what do you mean by praying? Do you mean the official act (depending on your faith)? I guess for Christians that would mean reading the Bible? Does the rosary count? What else? For Jews...?... uh, reading the Torah? What else? For Muslims, I guess that would be namaz or reading the Quran? Anything else? Or... do you mean thinking about God in general and having a "conversation"? Does that count (in your mind)? I like conversations (which occur randomly if something really seems nice) more than the rituals, because to me that feels most heartfelt, but others would say that doesn't count.
