KVH should get a peice of that too. Of course if it was a mistake to have him in the game, that falls on AJ.

If Dallas goes small ball, I think Yao should be on Finley, not howard. When is the last time you see Finley drive to the basket? He's just a jump shooter now.

Problem with Johnson is that isn't his lack of experience, it's that he just doesn't have it.

Johnson hasn't been in these situations, but as a leader, you have to know how to handle tough nail-bitting situations. And he's making mistakes and looking like he's not sure of himself on those post-game shows.

That's going to make his players wonder about what he's saying on the court....execution will slack.

This Dallas team is going to get toasted unless Houston comes out totally flat - and I am pretty sure they will not.

    I think you are right.
Someone please tell JVG. Finley is not so fast anymore and he either takes the outside shot or a few dribbles and pull up. He does not take it all the way to the hoop much. He does not jump as high as Howard either so Yao won't have to jump much and reach in to foul him.

Yao can actually stay with him better than any body else.

Avery is not getting outcoached, he just has Dirk, and JVG has TMac.

That brilliant coaching move of letting TMAC take the ball forward at the end only works BECAUSE you have Tmac.

Let's be happy we are winning, but not get ahead of ourselves.

I disagree. Typically coaches get second-guessed when they fail to win, even to a better team.

But AJ has failed as a coach. There is no excuse for a team of the Mavericks calibar to lose two games at home to any team. And he has made critical errors:

    1. Not even trying to use M. Daniels amongst other questionable substitutions
    2. Failing to continue to use Josh Howard to exploit Yao's mobility.
    3. Failing to have his team prepared defensively the last play of the game.
    4. Running out after crawford
    5. An overall lack of leadership

These are not things you see from a 1st-rate coach.

Both Yao and TMac are shooting over 90% from the stripes in the postseason, and that's not AJ's fault.

If Yao and Tracy each missed one more FTs on Monday night, who knows who would have won the game.

There is no denying that both Yao and TMac played a perfect game on Monday night. If these two can play like this on a consistent basis, all other teams need to do are to bend over and hand the Rockets the trophy for the next decade.

AJ was caught surprised by JVG. He figured, what would I do in his situation - call a time out, set up a play. What most insecure coaches would do. he didn't prep his team for what should happen AFTER they tied the game.

Instead, Gundy did the surprise thing and planned out the offensive play to win the game while on defense with a 2 point lead.

Gundy - one move ahead of AJ.

How can anyone say AJ is not being outcoached....he just lost his queen!
