Just finished reading as many Mav posts as I could on their message boards, interesting how confident they are. My take on the majority of posts- 1. They are still confident they will win the series- calling us Tmac, Yao and SCRUBS (they disrespect our role players- old not talent) 2. They think TMac needs to be fouled often and hard to disrupt his game. 3. They believe Dirk is fine and will rise up, they think he needs to drive to the basket and go to the rim more. 4. They really believe Dampier needs to stay in the game and take it right at Yao. 5. Don't know why Marquise is not playing more??? 6. Thinks Sura was lucky hitting 3's and hate the hand sign. 7. They all think the Rockets are overconfident and ripe for a blow out. 8. They actually believe they will sweep in Houston
Hard to find, I found two, one though had alot of board to it and all the posts, alot like here. Don't think I can link it, search and you will find.
well...a team has come back from 0-2 after losing the first 2 at home a grand total of ONE TIME....EVER. so good luck, Mavs fans!!!
Madmax- Exactly, they are the eternal optimists and my impression is they really believe they are superior to Rox Their egos remind me so much of Cowboy Fan
www.dallas-mavs.com good board with mostly intelligent fans www.mavtalk.com not so good board with not so intelligent fans
Listening to ESPN Radio here in Dallas, Mark Follower (Mavs Radio commentator) and Dave Shaw (Mavs court side reporter)Mavs are going to: 1. Not double as much on T-mac like they did in Game 1 and 2. Josh Howord will be the primary defender on T-mac. 2. Mavs are using "Gemannator" as motivation, they want to put the Dirk in the right position to score instead of letting him create his own shot. The first 7 minutes of the game will be the most important minutes of the game for Dirk. 3.There will be some double team on Yao and they are going to as physical to Yao as possible. 4. Finely is still going to play lots of minutes.
Not basketball related, but this thread is genius. http://dallas-mavs.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=4&threadid=19059
I think Dampier is going to see the ball a lot to wear Yao out and try to get him into foul trouble. Let's hope Yao defends him well early so that they stop. Let's hope the refs don't swallow their whistles tonight. We need the fans to show up and make the refs pay for letting Yao get mugged.
1. On paper, that's how we look. Wesley may be the only one that is an established starter over the years. 2. They're right. 3. They're right that Dirk is due for a big game and can really hurt us when he takes his man off the dribble and goes to the basket. He can really get our defense into foul trouble that way. 4. Dampier is their most effective defender on Yao, but I don't know about him taking it to Yao. They do more damage when they go small ball (Dirk at center) and force us to go zone or put Yao in a mismatch - he's more likely to tire or get into foul trouble. 5. They're right - Howard is hurting us with his energetic play, and Daniels can do likewise. I think AJ is holding him back in favor of more reliable shooters. 6. I'd hate the sign too if I were on the recieving end. At least it's not as stupid-looking as Larry Johnson's 'L' sign he started doing in 99. Sura just had his second best regular season shooting the long ball (career: 32.5%), and his 4-5 showing in game 2 was in the least surprising. Hot hand to be sure. 7. That would be my worry if I were JVG. 8. I suspect that we will drop a game at TC. Tonight will be a tough tough tough game for us. They're most likely going to come out loose and free, and momentum is a scary force in the playoffs. -->Once more, fansites aren't going to be home to the most objective opinions in the world. This bbs is a testament to that. For every one level head, there's no less than 15 homers. Evan
Sounds to me like they want to foul out some players. Typical Mavs. I love it when they have to get out of their game for us.
This is great. Nothing is better to keep taking it too someone over and over again....ala Hakeem to David Robinson. We don't want Dallas to give in and claim Houston the better team, what fun would that be? Besides...it's got to hurt so much more with each passing game, with each small realization, that their team is clearly the inferior one.
Hey guys, just a word of caution I read in the NBA dish about posting stuff from other boards; http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?threadid=95228 BTW - We are going to sweep them
