Fans talking about NBA championship, media talking about greatest duo in the league (Jordan and Kareem?!?!), Sura talking about hand gestures, Barry talking about meeting Spurs in two weeks...

People are acting like we have already swept the Mavs. I can only wish that JVG constantly reminds the team that the Mavs are still a very good team. The combination of relaxing and over-confidence is a disaster waiting to happen. The last thing we need is to slip a game or two at home, only to give the confidence, which we robbed from Dallas, back to them.

BTW, I implore you guys who live in Houston, SHOW UP AND BLOW THE ROOF OFF! For the team, for the city, and for us (out-of-towners)!

I am with you, DeAleck. They shouldn't compare Tracy and Yao with the greats until they win a championship. They still need to win their first playoff series. I think people need to settle down. The Mavs were talking championship last week, too.

game three is still a must win for us in my opinion.. putting a team down 3-0 is huge. a 2-1 lead doesn't seem very good does it? i'm confident but at the same time scared that we'll come out flat. JVG needs to rip them a new one at wednesday's meeting to let them know that we're not losing game three. i'm certain that JVG will have them ready to play. if they come out flat, the fans will have to let them know whussup..

I am sure JVG and the Vetrans know to not let up and they shouldn't...taking game three at home is vital in many ways..not only will it bring the team that much closer..it will give us a lot more cusion to play with just in case they decide to play later in the series.

I'm not worried. JVG won't let them get complacent. And this is playoff basketball. With the intensity of the play and the crowd getting into it, I don't see how anybody could relax during the game. The whole "potential Finals" matchups and "T-mac/Yao = Jordan/Kareem" topics are fun for fans like us to talk about. But I doubt the players will let it affect their play. Not T-mac and Yao for sure. T-Mac because he's been down this road before (he's done the whole "counting chickens" routine already), and Yao because I don't think he pays attention to the American media.

Exactly. Van Gundy is our trump card. He will not allow us to begin sleep walking through any of these games. Him getting pissed off at Sura for the weird hand gesture thing after his big 3s in the last game is a perfect example of that.

Besides, the only thing I have seen from the actual PLAYERS that indicate they may now be looking past the Mavs is the text message from Barry. Everything else is just bandwagoning by fans and media. I think our players are still focused, and they know how close they were to losing this last game. Mavs could easily get a game in Houston just because they are bound to catch us on a cold shooting night or to get unbelievably hot themselves...but I don't think we will lose because they weren't prepared.

Assuming the chance of winning a game is 50%, the mavs still have a 6/32 (a little less than 20%) chance of coming back.

Stay humble , stay focused and dont let that happen.

I have to agree- There is no doubt the 2-0 start is filling their heads with a false security.

Dallas wins game 3 - they will have a new confidence and it will put all the pressure on Rockets for game 4.

We are already making the obvious mistake. We are losing focus and it is hard to get that back.

Dallas is on the ropes. We are dancing around like we knocked them out.

We better shut up, buckle down, get hard and focused cause it will be a war come Thurs. night.

As much as I love Barry, he needs to shut the trap. Dirk isn't playing well and we barely won game 2 with Yao and Tracy playing perfect games. The Mavs have what it takes to crawl back into the series if we get complacent. They beat the Kings after down 0-2! The chance of it happening is small, but will be big if we get complacent.

But the Mavs hit over 50% of their shots overall, hit 2/3 of their 3's, out-rebounded us by double figures on their home court and we still found a way to win. It is not like the Mavs just rolled over and we barely beat them. It was more like a heavyweight fight.

The Mavs played a good game in general eventhough Dirk was not himself. Yes we were lucky to win but a good team with heart will find a way to win those types of games.

Totally agreed. I am worried too:eek: . We don't want to be like the stupid mavs fans before the serial started.

stay hungary. I have no doubt JVG, TMAC and YAO will do that. My question is:

will our role players also remember that :( ?

    We have done nothing

I am so tired of hearing how great and confident we are over the last 72 hrs.

    Hand jestures, look at us
I did this and I did that
    Greatest duo
    Greatest role players
    Dirk has been shut down.

    WE HAVE DONE NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JVG- please slap these guys into their senses. This is a seven game playoff series.

    Stop the talk.

    Shut Up.

Play the game. Do it on the court.

NOTE to Houston. We have a tiger by the tail, Dallas is on the ropes, Stop dancing around like you just won the championship.

Get over there and finish the job.

    (I feel better)

PS- I said this in the I Am Worried thread...

I started a new thread because this team is starting to scare me, I don't want to even think about it...

JB and Sura and TMac when they shove the microphone in front of you. Just focus. Just say the yes and no and get on with your game face.

Stop all this we are confident we are this we are that.

We have 2 more hard games we must win!!!!!!!!

Why can't we count BURROS, or cows, or horses? Do other animals get jealous because we don't count them? Shouldn't it have been "counting sheep" just like in our sleep (rhyme!)? The Counting Crowes, I hear, are a good band.

I really thought the nutz to the back of Bradley was going to spark life in the Mavs...
