Is is possible that somebody could paste all the "classic" YoYao threads? Just thinking about reading those threads makes me start to laugh. And, on another note, does anyone find themselves using phrases from the bbs in real life? I can say I have definitely used 1) "maybe, maybe no" and 2) "fomfotable".
All I can remember about YoYao is this Vibe magazine I picked up ~ it was quite a coincidence that several Clutch BBS members were featured in that issue.
Ditto, I think it's dead. Never found it all that funy. Something I picked up and use now in real life when I watch Rockets games. : BOOM! I stole that from DOD (DrofDunk)
I, for one, feel bad for that poor guy. he did not deserver to be banned. lots of the people who mocked him for the pure purpose of entertainment, on the other hand, should have been stoned.
I loved the summer of YoYao. I'm going to get around to learning photoshop one of these days. I really enjoyed the opportunity to laugh in the hangout. I needed the laughs that summer. Some of the jokes got played out - like the OCP thread did, later. But nature was taking it's course. Attention-whoring inevitably leads to ennui, and eventually, a lack of interest, all by itself. YY seemed like an affable guy, less his failing.
I thought when he took photos of his face and used them as smilies was pretty funny. The guy just didn't use common sense posting sex stuff on here, but that's what made him YoYao...
The original thread was classic. One of the funniest threads ever. The headshot smilies were pretty funny too. Everything after that just wasn't the same. Too contrived. Besides, I always wonder about posters here who NEVER post in the GARM. I mean NEVER. What are they doing here?
YoYao was around during my Clutch BBS sabbatical, but it seems like he was an attention-starved, self-promoting, one-trick pony who's act got old quickly. Like Spuds McKenzie or the Yo Quiero Taco Bell dog. Even if he was allowed back, I don't see how he'd contribute anything. The jokes got old, and he wasn't a meaningful contributor to discussions. There are plenty of other missing posters who I'd prefer to see return.
