I am not sure whether it's a new thread worthy. But, what the hell, I am just going to join the parade, and express my full joy. I was watching TNT and CCTV-5 through Coolstreaming at the same time, I couldn't help smiling when the commentators praising all the Rockets players, not just Yao, in highest degree. They kept saying how great TMac was, and they were basically in awe, whenever TMac picked up his game and give us a basket or a wonderful pass when we needed most. They were amazed by his great court vision and poise. Then, during Timeouts, some fans called in, and said they loved Sura just more and more, after those big 3s. They were all excited about the hustle and energy he brought in, and those cold-blooded 3 pointers. Although sometimes Sura still hesitated too much passing to the paint, they just love him and the Rockets in a whole. People just excited there about how good Yao could be, and how great this team could be. Everyone was making fun of Dampier's self-claimed-best-center-in-west bold statement. It was such a joyful night, not just because of the win, but also, or even more so about the way we pulled this one out. Chinese fans love Sura, who could foresee that? Hopefully, he doesn't faint.
it came from the "jokes from China " thread Im hoping to be able to use the phrase "Cuban faints" soon... btw....I cant understand why the chinese fans wouldnt like Sura....all he wants to do is win...and that is the same thing Yao wants...so as long as Sura helps us win..he helps Yao get what he wants... everyone should be happy.
A while back ago, early in the season, I believe that Chinese Fans were upset that Sura seemed to ignore Yao posting up. I guess all those thoughts have subsided since then.
One of the reason some Chinese fans don't like Sura is because they see that Sura passed up opportunities to make a pass inside to Yao in many occassions. They did not realize that not every one is great passer like TMac, Sura did his best and play with fire every single game, he brings a lot more than just being a PG.
This is the kind of playoff series that creates Rockets Fans-for-Life. I have a hunch that in the coming years this team is going to earn a lot of Chinese fans that will follow the team long after Yao Ming is retired and coaching the national team.
Got to mention Sura's rebound late in the game where he wrestled away the ball from I think Dirk. It was right after one of his big 3's, but I think the rebound was even a BIGGER play for the Rockets! Great determination! Way to go Sura!
well, the chinese fans were right all along. when sura first joined the tear he only passed to tmac and never got the ball into yao. now he looks for yao just like everyone on the team does. the whole team is willing to do whatever is asked to win.
A little chinese boy approaches the Rocket's starting point guard and says, "I love you" Sura Faints. (How are my chinese jokes?)
