Went over to the breakroom, turned on the TV, and noticed that ESPN had a short, 2-second story on how high Yao Ming's shooting percentage was at 13 of 14, making him 92% effective from the floor.

His shooting makes him number 5, and I think they showed a few others who are in the league still. I can't for the life of me find the stats on the NBA.com site, but Yao is in there for lifetime playoff average.

Just below him, guess who? Dikembe Mutombo. Deke came in at 91% in 1995, I believe, back when he was still with the Nuggets, I think.

you know the drill... if it has been mentioned, lock this baby up... :(

    Go ROCKETS!!!!

It was from Yao's drive to the hoop, it was more a turnover on Yao's than a shot... and more a foul than a blocked shot, but they counted it as a shot.

6-foot jumper with 6:16 left in the 2nd quarter?

I am ALWAYS praying he doesn't miss ANY. It pisses me off when he misses just ONE, but I know we're all NOT perfect.

he was moving across the lane on way to a hook shot or something and had it stripped. I didn't see an actual shot attempt, but hey, that's how they called it.

remember when barry had his 3ptr changed to two? remember when they took 2 pts away from tmac...i noticed at least one shot (by stack) that was clearly on the line and they counted as three...i wonder why the luck has it that that one wasn't called back...

either you review all or none...i vote none b/c it's more practical...

I see your attempt to derail my thread and raise you:

Replay Review is for sissies. Everybody makes mistakes. Just don't make mistakes on my ROX. I agree, either all or none, but it slows down the game.

Yao has the potential to be in the top 10 in Field Goal percentage all time for all Playoff games. I think he's at 772 right now. I am still looking for all-time playoff individual game percentage stats if anyone can find it, please...

I think you have to have a certain amount of attempts, 7 isn't enough

I believe they said the records were based on having taken eight shots minimum.

Actually it was a minimum of 10 field goal attempts...

They may have shafted Yao actually since one of the "misses" may have been a turnover so he should be at 100% and not 92.9%

I am sure there have been lots of players who shot 1/1 in a playoff game before.
