I think he is a choker. Lights it up the first half last night and then shortarms shots the whole second half. After watching him do this several times, including the flub up on the free throw last year against us where we stole a game from them, I have come to the conclusion that he is a very good player who is the second coming of Nick Anderson under pressure. If we get Denver, we should force the ball into his hands in any close games. He may just hand us another W on a silver platter.

    Good thing they got Boykins

I think the 1-2 of them is getting to Parker

Miller Muscles him . .then Boykins forces him to
    run all over the place

I never liked Andre Miller. He is a decent player but there is just something about him I don't like.

Speaking of choking, did ya'll see Bibby's and Arenas' performances in their games? It was terrible to watch, especially Arenas, who kept on shooting terrible shots and turning the ball over in the last 2 minutes of the 4th.

The Wiz had a great shot of taking game 1, but they just completely crumbled down the stretch. The Kings made a game out of a blowout, Mobley got hot at the end, but Bibby made only 2 FGs in the game.

Yes, but I don't feel like Bibby is a choker. I've seen too much of him playing blood and guts in a lot of big playoff games. He was just off in the first game. I would bet on him bouncing back big time in game 2.

On the other hand, I haven't seen enough of Arenas under pressure to label him a choker but he sure stunk it up the other night. He strikes me as having the Steve Francis syndrome, thinking he is more than what he is.

I'm starting to think big names PG's like Francis, Arenas, Bibby, etc. aren't the way to go. Those guys turn it over more and make dumb errors more often trying to get things going by scoring themselves. You need someone solid who doesn't care about getting his but rather being a hustler and a team player who sets his guys up and gets them going. Now, who do we know like that....

I would have traded Francis for him, how come that quote is not a classic?

We all saw how Bob got Atlanta, Cleveland, and Golden State going.

I wanted Bob Sura on this team instead of Brent Barry because of the intangibles, but to suggest he's an elite pg and compare him to guys who are asked to carry their teams is ridiculous. Its a little easier to win when you are playing with Yao and McGrady.

I hope you were kidding rockets #1.

I never said Sura was elite, as much as I like the guy, I don't think he's quite that good. I was stating that it might just be better to have a role player point guard who is more like a true point guard instead of a star guy who looks for his own shot more and tries to do too much and effectively turns the ball over more.

in a way i think he was trying to say that he would rather have a max contract or spend a lot of cash on another position. and have an average point guard which is what he is. but he can take those open shots that tmac and yao give him from time to time.

I disagree. Choking implies that he should have been playing that well in the first place. I would use the term "Regression to the Mean" - he simply isn't a good shooter, and his first half was way over his abilities as a shooter.

Miller's not a choker - he's just not that good and never was. He's not an all-star caliber player. He's a decent driver, a decent disher, horrible shooter, horrible defender - and really doesn't do anything else well. I wouldn't expect him to step up in the clutch because he doesn't really do so otherwise.

He seems to be living off a little bit of reputation from 2000 when he showed a few flashes as a rookie and idiots like Bill Simmons said "OMFG THIS IS TEH NEXT ISIAH THOMAS OMFG HE'S SO SMOOTH AND SMART" and hyped him up - he's simply not that good.
