Seems like everyone picked the Mavs: ESPN: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2005/series?series=houdal -Greg Anthony -Chad Ford -John Hollinger -Marc Stein -Bill Walton Yahoo: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/playoffs/houdal;_ylc=X3oDMTBpYTg2ZTBwBF9TAzk1ODYxOTQ4BHNlYwN0bQ-- -Steve Kerr Fox Sports: http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/3562922 -Steve Alexander *Note this guy actually picked the Rockets to win the series, but he deserves a beating for picking the Suns to go all the way. SI.com: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/marty_burns/04/21/mavs.rockets/index.html -Marty Burns Only confirmed experts that actually picked the Rockets: -Tim Legler -Kenny Smith -Charles Barkley
more "expert" that pickes the Mavs SI.com: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20.../playoffs/2005/04/22/experts.picks/index.html -David Aldridge -Ian Thomsen -Jack McCallum -Chris Mannix -Kelly Dwyer
What can I say? Tim Legler must be REALLLY hoping to work tomorrow and tell all the guys around him "I TOLD U SOOO!"
Mike Wilbon of PTI also had Dallas beating the rockets in 7 because he picked Dallas beforehand as his darkhorse and is sticking by it
I don't remember having heard that happen. Kenny, maybe, but Barkley never said that, are you sure? He didn't even start giving the Rockets a little bit of praise until after tonight's win. Even when he did tonight, he said Yao & McGrady have to keep playing at this level, only then. Anyways, can y'all hear that sound? It's the sound of all those fools jumpin' on the wagon.
R. Bucher and Anthony had what could pass as verbal sparring about who will win the series, with Bucher picking us because he didn't like Terry at the point, so you can count him as an expert on our side. The only experts' opinion I respect who picked the Mavs is Aldridge, by the way.
and watch that video clip of TMAc dunking again, and notice how Yao is stumbling just trying to get the hell out of the way from #1. How did we get McGrady again? I think I asked my dad and brothers on the telephone tonight that around 10 times today.
Bucher has been on the Rockets' side since last season. Of course, he is co-author of Yao's book, so he has a little more insight than the rest. But this is an entirely different team from the one last year (which Bucher predicted to go further in the playoffs than the Mavericks), and last years team would have lost tonight's game. tehj national guys look at numbers, not games. Don't expect any of them to take mor ethan a shot in the dark. They will all explain why the Rockets won it all after it happens. We already know why.
That's true. I think he's the one that said, "Call me crazy, but I think the Rockets will win the series..." or something like that. At least he picked us. That's worth something.
Bill Simmons picked the mavs in 5. John Salley actually picked Houston to go all the way. You have to remember though that these guys aren't wrong yet, well Simmons is. The Rockets haven't won the series, lets take it one game at a time.
Yes, you are right sbyang. We're riding high now. So, lets make sure those "experts" are wrong. One game at a time! Stay hungry, stay humble!
The price of Rockets going all the way will be John Salley looking like a genius. It's a hefty price but let's pay up....
Barkley said that if McGrady plays like a superstar and not an All-Star that they would. And he is being proven correct.
