and this is the EXACT reason why I never watch the national feeds if local is available... The other is that unlike many here...I couldn't care less what the national ppl think of the ROckets...they have no clue about the team...they dont watch them and their opinions about the Rockets are worth next to nothing to me. kros, Mine isnt near as horrible as some I have heard talk about it...but the picture quality still leaves lots to be desired. FSN absolutely rules...great picture quality...and our local guys filling the time with lots of info about the Rockets...not some other team I care nothing about. The also very rarely miss any of the game...sometimes they may miss a few seconds coming out of a timeout/commercial break.
For some reason, 51 is crystal clear for me.. and the color looks better than ESPN. On ESPN they looked like the Simpsons. I also don't like watching the National broadcast because I hate hearing people who don't watch the Rockets talk like they know the Rockets. Unless it's Hubie Brown, I can't stand Collins, Kerr, Tolbert, Ramsey, basically anyone other than Hubie. I don't like Matt that much. I'd prefer Van over Matt. None competes with Calvin though.
ESPN HD. I cannot get houston local chanels and TNT doesn't have HD (at least to me). But I never pay attention to ESPN announcers. They are trash.
My thoughts exactly. The only reason I prefer to other stations is to hear what other people have to say about our team and players. Pugs
My sarcastic meeter is picking up something but the readings are inconclusive. So yea, thanks for the advice?
I guess your meter picks up sarcasm as well as your television picks up Ch 51. Seriously, I'm so used to watching games on 51 with mediocre reception and a bad TV, that I half-forgot that one would otherwise be able to see the numbers on a guy's shirt. My favorite is when my wife asks me what the score is and I tell her, "The Rockets have either 87 or 67, so we're ahead by 9 or down by 11."
i like FSN. i get fustrated with ESPN's stupid interviews. for instance, the game 1 of rox/mavs game. I DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT TROY AIKMAN!!!!
i usually prefer the national broadcasts because of the higher quality and the change of pace. but i still check in sometimes to see whats up on fsn. if calvin murphy still was on i would probably watch it even more.
Exactly the same for me. HD is first priority for me. If I really want a local feel to the game, I'll turn on 610 during the game. It's become really tough for me to watch the non HD games on time warner, since FSN is an analog channel. B
Is 51 going to have a repeat overnight??? I am working tongiht, so play by play on Yahoo/NBA.com for me
Nothing beats FSSW. I would much wrather listen to Air Bull and Bill Worell any day over anything ESPN has, and even TNT.
