I'm pissed off as you are. The Mavs get away with a lot of things, they just stink in game one even when the refs are screwing the Rockets.

How dare they complain and whining, little Avery Johnson even has the audacity to go after the official at the end of the game. I hope because Johnson's yelling at the official at the end of the game, they gonna screw Mavs the rest of the series.

Weak. The homer calls and no-calls they were getting all game were outlandish. I lost it watching a Mav (Finley, I believe, 3rd quarter) take a five step dance before passing the ball under the basket with no call. Dampier had a few Central Park mugging moments that went without a whistle himself.

They lost this game because Dirk played like a girl and McGrady abused them all with a broomstick.

They shot 42 free throws to our 20...and Yao fouled out.

Get a GRIP...the Mavs just are not as good as the Rockets.

I'm usually fine with just lurking but I have to say that if I was a Mavs fan, I'd be pretty concerned about how little composure that team is showing. The Rockets coldly punched them in the mouth and the result is their coach screaming like a little kid? Not the way you want to react to adversity in the playoffs.

Damn, I hate the Mavericks. That whole franchise has this smug sense of entitlement, starting with that b**** Cuban, and now poor Avery's been infected by those crybabies...

Right on. I used to have respect for AJ. I think he will be a good coach. But he obviously lost his composure due to the playoffs pressure.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. Everytime they show a camera shot of Cuban, he's got that stupid look on his face with that goofy haircut. Anyone notice, how Mike Finley is now competing with Gasol as Mr. Bitter Beer Face NBA 2005. Even after hitting a jumper, Finely's got that bitter beer face working. Anyways, I guess, it all begins at the top and trickles down to the players. Nice post, you should post more often Andy!

Are you kidding me? The only reason they came back was the refs did not call any fouls while the Mavs took turns hacking and hitting our players's arms and wrists and body parts..and then on the other end kept on callign fouls lol. I saw a double dribble by Jerry Stackhouse..and goaltending by Dampier?..in the end..Dirk went inside..he was not fouled..and they did not call it. :)

    Two words. Popavich, Nelson.

Those two coaches/ mentors taught AJ these little tricks of the trade (working the officials), and AJ just woke up from a bad dream and forgot that the game was already over:)

Or maybe he thinks he is setting the tone for Game 2. Good luck with that Avery.

AJ is trying to "Phil Jackson" the refs into giving his team more calls. JVG needs to counter act this today in the press and complain how they called a bunch of ticky tack calls on Yao.

I have met AJ and he is a heck of a nice guy (with a HUGE mouth, not talking about how much he talks, but the actual size of his mouth) with a great mind for basketball. It showed during the '99 playoffs when he was the floor general and ran Popovich's offense perfectly. I think AJ can coach, but his problem is the lack of playoff experience. It is unfortunate for the Mavericks that they are going to have to lose some playoff games for AJ to get that experience, but it is the reality of the NBA.

I wish AJ all the luck in the world...

    ...starting two weeks from now.

Don't worry about AJ. Nellie will sit down with him & give him some pointers. This is just some high level OJT for AJ. You know, we may have gotten the Mavs at the most oppertune time. andymoon said it best when he said the Mavs are going to have to loose some playoff games for AJ to get the playoff experience. 4 in the 1st round to be exact. :D

So tell me R0ckets03 what exactly are you stating....

I can understand not liking the guy or the mavericks..

But to be honest with you that statemen was pretty jacked up and very offensive.

He's really a nice guy. Just that he's a rival coach right now! :)

I can't believe Avery did such a stupid move just after the first loss. It is a seven game series. Blaming Refs does no good if not making the situation worser, especially Mavs had actually lead Rockets a wide margin in no. of freebies.

I hope Rockets can drive more and draw fouls in the second game. If Rockets can get the coming one, I am afraid Avery can't hold his team to go into panic mode.

Lose the refs, suck it up and win the game anyway. That's what champions do.

My personal favorite was Van Horn's knee into Yao's chest outside the circle. No call of course.
