Okay, so a month in Italy isn't the end of the world. Still, my timing could've been better. Now I'm looking for ANY advice whatsoever regarding where I can possibly watch NBA playoff games in Venice. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Man, I'm so friggin' excited about this, I can barely breathe!!
When I lived in France last year, I planned for this the first week I got there: went to local tv stores, asked around about cable and satellite, and went to basically every bar in the city of Nice until I found a place that had the new French Satellite station NBAplus and also UK satellite. Use your Rockets passion and do some leg work. Ask around. Find expatriats. Look for English bars, they might have UK satellite, which shows 1 or 2 games per week. Actually, NBA.com is extremely helpful. give me a sec. go to NBA.com's global section the playoff schedule will be up soon the Rockets Sonics game will be on SkySportsPlus at 8:30 UK time hmm, it doesn't look like Italy has a contract to show NBA games. if you can find a French bar with French satellite, you can get games from there, or a Spanish bar with Spanish satellite
there is always a bar that plays the game(s). Gontact the consulate/embassy in the city you're in. Better to do it in person........ someone there will know where to hang!
Im here studying in Spain and they pass alot of NBA games and College hoops you should try Irish Pubs they usually cater to americans too!!!!
Hey I'm in Melbourne Australia, but don't have cable tv. Anyone know where I can watch the games? Crown? (I think there are a lot of members here from Australia)
if 500 world cup freaks can find a pub open at 5 AM in Houston ... you SHOULD be able to find access to the games somehow - I will be on vacation in Mexico toward the end of May - hopfully I will also have this problem (meaning that the Rox are still alive)
Hola que tal, ElVenezolano. If you guys really can't access NBA games anywhere. coolstream is always there. with that you can get CCTV5 (a Chinese TV sports program), then any Rox game can be watched.
or wait for r2k's torrents but somehow in the meantime make sure you stay away from any sort of sports news if you want to know the final score by watching the game. sorry to hear your situation, but like others said you may be able to find a place to watch the game with the uk tv
Heck, I'll still be in the state and won't be able to see the game. My wonderful sister-in-law is getting married for the 3rd time (she's only 31) at 5:00. Because of this damn wedding, I'm missing the Black Crowes on Thursday, Medeski, Martin & Wood on Friday, & Wilco, the NFL draft and the Rockets on Saturday.
Unless I'm incorrect, wouldn't a sister-in-law in this case have to be a siblings' spouses sister? If that is the case, I think the rule is you can miss those weddings without feeling too bad, especially if it is #3 for her.
No, this is my wife's sister and I am apparently in the wedding, even though I was never asked. It's not so easy to get out of such things.
You're screwed. I had a wedding last weekend and missed the Denver game. Unfortunately, my MP3 player only gets FM feeds, and I didn't know if there was any FM stations that carry the game.
You know you're a fan when you miss a game or two because you're "stuck" in Italy. I loved my years living there, but I did miss out on those Rockets seasons. Luckily they didn't get really good until I got out of the service. But then I was "stuck" in Iowa---and let me bold that---stuck---although in that case, I did get to see the games on TV; unfortunately, the people-standing-on-top-of-cars on Richmond Drive? I missed that.
it's okay...i didn't have a driver's license then so i missed out on it too. but i did go to the celebration in the good ol' astrodome.
http://www.coolstreaming.org/ It's a p2p software based on bittorrent program that allows you watch live TV over the net.
Strict answer is no, p2p over tcp/ip cant be reliable like point to point from your sat/cable company to your recevier. But it's good enough.
