Oh, you mean when Rocky continually slaps Apollo creed in the ribs and he is jumping up like he is being lifted by the force of these whisper like blows.

    Give me a break....

Seriously, if you want to compare the realism of The Natural and Rocky, Rocky gets its ass beat hardcore. There isn't a single thing about Rocky that is realistic when compared to actual boxing matches.

You can believe Sylvestor Stallone is a boxer. He looks like a boxer, talks like a boxer, moves like a boxer. When he was training, it was believable.

Plus, you're comparing scenes from 2 generations where the filming/special effects were much improved.

There is no person on Earth (or Pluto, or Venus, or Saturn) that would ever believe Robert Redford can even swing a bat.

How old was he when he made that movie? 49?

The actual basketball scenes in Hoosiers were pretty bad. Much worse than Rocky and The Natural.

Agreed. I find it curious to say in the least that "The Natural" beats probably the most realistic boxing movie ever in "Raging Bull" (DeNiro actually took boxing lessons and does all of his own fighting) but can't beat the hammy "Rocky"??!!

    wtf wtf wtf??

I hated Bullwinkle. It's about time someone makes a Flying Squirrel Sports movie.

I hate Hoosiers even though it has Gene in it. Mostly I just hate Indiana so any movie located there gets a thumbs down.

I get the impression from reading this thread that Hoosiers is absolutely smoking Rocky, yet if you look at the poll results, that is not the case.

I wasn't going to vote because I'm mad The Natural isn't here but since I participated in the other rounds I won't be a sore loser.
