We're supposed to get a picture a day until the draft, so stay tuned for some more this week. For reference, here is that concept image posted a while back:

I was an Okoye fan myself, defenders would just bounce off like he was the Incredible Hulk... Or I'd make one of the Oilers receivers into a RB, usually Givins or Hill, and they'd run for 1500 yards in a season.

So Madden wont drop in September then?
It will have to wait until Q4 on XBOX 360???
What about the PS3 that isnt coming until even later?

I guess Madden NFL 06 will drop on schedule, and then Madden Next Gen will follow with the Next Gen Consoles?

The only one I can think of that could be touched up for sure is the last image, which shouldn't be too surprising considering how long ago it was most likely made. I seem to remember it circulating the web late last year, and it was supposedly made even before that, so I doubt they were running on anything like the devkits (either XB360 or PS3) that EA has now.

These newer images seem more likely to be real-time, IMO, especially the big one. There are some problems with it to be CGI or touched up, such as the eyelids and some parts of the facemask. I don't see why they would leave that stuff in if they were trying to create something that looked good but not necessarily gameplay. Of course, I guess these images could be from replays or cutscenes; I don't see too many people playing Madden with a camera zoom like that. Also, if you compare these images with other next-gen shots, such as those from UE 3.0, it seems more likely that this was all done in real-time. Hopefully, we'll get some good zoomed-out pictures later on in the week, showing us what to expect when we are actually playing the game.

These do look great though, and supposedly they made some more improvements in the latest build that brings a tear to the eye of one of the team's artists. Plus, supposedly (got to love that word) the PS3 will be substantially more powerful than the Xbox 360 according to some developers, so it will be interesting to see what Madden will look like on the PS3.

BTW, I forgot to include in my original post the commercials that EA is putting out now to advertise for...the commerical they're putting out this weekend.
    http://files.ea.com/downloads/sports_videos/madden06/contract.mov
    http://files.ea.com/downloads/sports_videos/madden06/heart.mov

Kind of strange that they are spending this much money on advertisements for their game when they pretty much have no competition right now.

I would assume that Madden 2006 for current-gen will come out around the same time as normal, while the Xbox 360 version will come out at or around the launch for the console. It seems like the PS3 won't hit the US until the '06 fall season, so I would assume that it will most likely get Madden 2007 at or around launch. All guesswork though.

I like using the Giants myself, Anderson bounces off the defenders like Okoye and Meggett has great speed. Plus LT is like Bo Jackson on defense, he can literally cover every WR at the same time.

So this is next year's Madden? Or will it be only for the next gen systems?

Either way it's nice to see EA putting some effort into improving Madden despite the fact there is ZERO competiton for them now.

The bulky, cartoonish looking player models from the past needed to be changed badly.

It baffles me that EA would allow XBOX to carry the "Next Gen" line first. They stayed true to PS2 so long, only allowing them to be able to play any of the EA games online. This was the very first year XBOX was even allowed to have EA Games be played online. I guess it's pay back time. Im more of an XBOX fan anyway.

So steer away from Madden2006? and just wait to cop an XBOX 360 with Madden Next Gen?

I cant see them improving 2006 too much since they are working so hard on "Next Gen". 2006 is probably going to be a waste of $50.

We all know this isn't how the gameplay will actually look. I wish they would show screen sof actually gameplay, not movies, first, then show us the "movies".

    Are those game play screens?

Did anybody see the commercial about the commercial? I barely caught it, but it's like a Green Bay player but he's extremely pixilated like a first gen version of a madden player. Then it says something about "we've come a long way" before saying a commercial will debut during the draft.

No lie.. screen caps from videos like that are totally misleading.
