he has been flat out dominating... 30.7 mpg 58% fg% 89% ft% 19.6 ppg 10.1 rpg 3.4 bpg talk about efficiency for the minutes he plays. imagine if somehow we ever go this guy to play 35+ mpg with the passion he has shown this month......
A quick calculation. Playing 35 minutes a game he would average: 22.3 ppg 11.5 rpg 3.88 bpg If he can average this the whole season, he would be considered a MVP candidate (similar to Shaq's?). All he needs is 5 more minutes per game.
Yeah he is closing the season on a strong note. we will need him to keep this up if we are to beat the Sonics or Mavs in the playoffs. If either of those teams dont double team him then Yao will be in for a big series.
I've never seen Yao have as much energy when defending the paint and going up to block shots as he did last night. He had some extra pep in his step. there was one play where he darted to an area to snatch an offensive rebound. maybe it's the beautiful april weather here in Houston, or his resturaunt business in thriving, or who knows, but whatever it is, it's noticable, and couldn't happen at a better time.
thats if he plays like this through out April If we base it on how he performs through the year, within the various months, it would be more like 20-10-2.2 (only estimates) this is usually the time where he falls out of the picture, not this time
Then you add Deke's production for the other 10 min. Our C position should be along the line of 28/17/5.
The thing I like most is his fg%. He is becoming more accurate as the season progresses. 55% is just amazing. But he still has a long way to go to reach his 70% he's done in China.
So Deke should be the best C in the nba. As we have seen the performance of yao in this month, i stick to think all the time that YAOMING will eventually show up his dominion and make all the Yao hater shut up.
No one is being a Yao Hater. Perhaps you need to re-read everything before jumping to conclusions and making yourself look ridiculous in the process.
-_-"' Excuse me, "no one is being a yao hater" Are u blind?? im just kidding regarding Deke should be the best center in the nba. I just say Yao will eventually show something up. And im not a crazy YOF. Who the hell care about you are yao hater or not? All i hope is rox can go far in the playoff.Calm down, you are too serious.
I think he is inspired by the brilliance of Dikembe Mutombo. He was obviously motivated after seeing Deke dominated the paint on defense end and did such a great job on the board. What I like Yao right now is he is much better on the defense end, blocking more shots and making less mistakes. Don't tell me Deke didn't teach him a thing or two. Now if he could somehow learn how to grab rebound like Deke, watch out for next season!
you know whats interesting is that Yao's play usually starts to decline near the end of the season. I think his extra conditioning work has definitely paid dividends. J
Deke is either the 3rd or 4th best center in the league. Amare isn't a true center. I don't know who else besides Shaq and Yao that I would want playing center. Shaq-1 Yao-2 Deke-3?
