I wasn't knocking you. I know it wasn't your argument. Just pointing out that quite a few people did say Z was as good as Yao and they were/are wrong.

I'm surprised they haven't given him a hummer yet.

Duncun may not have the stats this year, but he gets the nod because of all the years he has had the stats. Every one knows that his minutes are being brought down to perserve his longevity...

AI, Lebron, Duncun, Shaq, and Marion are my choices for 1st team.

You have Marion as a forward in front of T-Mac, Nowitzki and Garnett? You have to be kidding

Too many players to consider for 2nd & 3rd teams, here is my 1st team based on the overall performance for this year, and the best candidates for each position,

PG: Nash (best PG with the ball)
SG: Iverson (I don't like this guy, but noone can score like him)
C: Shaq (no one come close)
SF: Marion (KG would be here is his team done better)
PF: Duncan (Dirk's defense will never make him a 1st team)

Nope. I think Marion is that good, that versitle, that I'd pick him over the other guys.

What he doesn't do in points, he makes up in steals, blocks, rebounds, and defense. He's so athletic, so quick...I really think on a team that wasn't loaded with so much firepower as Phoenix he's be putting up bigger scoring numbers. I really think he's under-rated right now.

Marion had a pretty lackluster year last year with no Q or Nash. Weren't the Suns trying to unload his huge contract to anyone who would take it? Maybe it was just Chad Ford saying so.

Yeah, but in that lackluster year, he still put up better numbers than Yao this year. He shoots a lower percentage, but you have to adjust for the fact that he shoots the 3-ball. More points and more rebs, more steals, more assists, more threes, a better free-throw percentage, and nearly as many blocks as Yao Ming - and that's a lackluster season for Marion and an All-Star season for Yao.

Yao has more value to Houston then winning championships, and the other thing is that Marion can't play the center position. Yao's value is mainly in the fact that there aren't many quality centers, but there are more available power fowards/small forwards.

Put in another way, Marion is a better overall basketball player, but Yao is harder to replace. Besides, Yao wouldn't fit into Phoenix.

Don't know why you compared Marion to Yao. He's a good player, but you claimed that he could put up more points with less talent on his team. I point out that he didn't last year. Now you point out that he had better stats than Yao. We are not talking about Yao vs Marion we are talking about putting Marion on the first team. I think he's the key to the Suns, but come on, he's no first teamer.

To demonstrate that Marions "lackluster" year was still better then Yao's best year thus far. I think that's pretty impressive don't you?

I think Marion would put up bigger numbers on most other teams, that's my contention. Anyway, it's ok to disagree - it's all opinion at the end of the day.

How did Yao come into the picture here?

You have Marion in your 1st team in front of Garnett, Dirk and Tmac. Someone said you must be kidding. Then you said Marion is this good and that good. Then another guy said marion is actually not that good. Then you replied by saying Marion put up better stats than Yao this season.

Last time I checked Yao doesn't play PF/SF and he's not in anyone's 1st team.

I use Yao to drive home the point. Everyone talk about how great Yao is...that's all.

I do think Marion belongs ahead of Dirk. T-mac isn't a forward in my book anyway - he's a 2. But I don't think I can justify putting him ahead of Garnett. KG does get the nod, and Marion would be on the second team along with Dirk and T-mac.

LeBron James, Cleveland: It's a joke. Glad Cleveland is going to say byebye to playoff.

I am sorry, but your comparison is flawed! You can't compare a Center to a SF, how would you compare Marion to Yao?! Yao is easily an all-star player because in his position (the 5 position) there is NO competition! Who would you put ahead of Yao at the 5? Shaq, of course, but then that's it.

Marion is a very solid player, I like his game a lot. But please don't compare him to a Center.

The funny thing is, I always get the sense that you are not really a Rockets fan, and take every chance you can to knock somebody down from the Rox. I might be wrong, but your posts lately have given me this imperssion. I am just being honest with you.

I am surprised you didn't include Marbury on your 1st team, btw.;)

Who said Yao is great now? I see a lot of people say Yao is improving steadily and hopefully will become the player everyone thinks he can be in another two years. Most of the people here are realistic and don't have the crazy expectations.

Are you the one who keeps saying that Yao isn't worth the 1st pick because he is not averaging 25 12 by now?
