It's not really a chest bump, its like jumping into each other, or a shoulder bump. Like someone said above, the entire team does it all the time, and Its what I look forward to when watching a game and they're celebrating like this.
Yeah, Jim & Gene (on the radio) were making fun of this when it happened during the game. (Yes, I watch it on TV and listen to it on the radio ... who doesn't???). Anyway, they made fun of Barry, saying he was afraid to actually chest bump Yao because Yao knocked him to the ground last time, so Barry went with the shoulder. A very safe play.
Didn't Bill Worrell mention something like that too? If I recall, (and I only caught the end of the story) somehow Barry couldn't breathe and was hunched over and started grabbing Yao's leg. Yao thought Barry was playing around and started kicking him for fun. So Barry ended up on the floor winded and hurt and Yao felt really bad. Then Sura fainted.
This actually happened when Barry was doing some stretching on the court before the game and he began to have his back spasms. Yao thought Barry was joking around when Barry grabed his leg so he started kicking him. Once Yao found out that Barry was really hurt he felt bad about it.
It actually was Barry and Yao doing an old Memphis dance and the words go something like this........ Lets twist again, like we did last summer Yeeeaaaaaaaaaa Lets twist again, like we did last year Do you remember when when we twisted last summer Yeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaa lets twist again, like we did last year Round and Round and up and down she goes again
Haha that's some funny stuff man. I know I wouldn't try to chest bump with someone who is 320 lbs I'd be bouncing off free as a bird.
To me, a soccer fan, it's kind of like a soccer jump for a head ball. I was confused in the beginning because there is no need to use head in BASTKETBALL game. Thank for making it clear.
haha someone who can go to the game should make a poster about it. "Sura Faints", that'll be a good move to make tv appearance. And I'm sure Sura faints after he saw that.
Yao and JB need tango lessons badly. Picture I want to see is Yao talking trash to Amare saying "This is my area, don't be coming into my area unless you want to eat that ball".
