I sometimes ask myself that. lol. Right now, I work for a small software company. I do testing of the software for accuracy, create automated test scripts that help test the application, validate upgrades of all the sites we're upgrading right now, help tech support upgrade those sites, image/re-image machines for the lab, etc. AggieRocket, Yes, I'm reaping heavily. I work hard now so I don't have to work hard later. Very few companies pay people in IT/IS overtime muchless 1.5x OT, so when they said you work whatever time you need to get it done, I said "ok". It's not extremely hard work, just mentally draining and lots of it. Everytime I see retirement creeping closer to me, I know it's worth it - not having to go to work 8-14 hrs a day is a good thing.
Stay away from Credit cards unless you can keep their balance at zero each month. and, remember in life.... Sometimes you are the pigeon and sometimes the statue.
