It is not a Rockets song, it has been used as a general sports song:

Rock and Roll Part 2 by Gary Glitter (aka "Hey Song").

Is that the same "Gary Glitter" that AC/DC refers to in their song?

rim the bod is right. And yes, DREAMer, that's the same Gary Glitter (I still can't believe you don't like the Use Your Illusion albums). Joan Jett covers a cool Glitter tune called "Do You Wanna Touch Me".

Only on this BBS will you see Hakeem Olajuwon compared to Scottie Pippen.

    TheFreak,

Did Boy George cover that too? [IMG]

On the "Use Your Illusion" question. If those would've been their first albums, then maybe I would have a place in my collection for them. But, after "Appetite for Destruction", those albums were basically like REM recordings comparitively. "Lies" was a teaser for what most GnR fans hoped would be a kick ass follow-up album, but I was hugely let down.

Sure, I could pick maybe 3 or 4 good songs off BOTH Illusion albums, but why? I could just listen to Appetite from cover to cover and not have to skip around the idiotic songs.

I do like their cover of Dylan's "Knocking on Heaven's Door". I saw ("had" but a dork friend lost) a video of GnR live in concert, and they totally kicked ass, plus they did that Dylan song too. So, since I saw them perform it before "Lies" was released, I don't really count it as an Illusion song.

Dreamer, I completely agree that Apetite for Destruction was better, but there are some great songs on the Illusions cd's (november rain, live and let die)

You qualify those songs as "great"? Like I said, REM may as well been playing those songs.

Of the 3 or 4 good songs off both Illusion albums, neither of those two make it.

I'm just wondering where the heck TheFreak is. He asked a question and I answered, so where's the reply?

...That's what happens when you never have another hit...after 30 years of trying to find that 2nd song to make it big...Guess it just wasn't happening for him. [IMG]

DREAMer, calm down! I can only respond when I get the chance.

Civil War, Yesterdays, Shotgun Blues, Breakdown, Locomotive, Estranged, You Could Be Mine, Right Next Door to Hell, Dust 'n' Bones, Bad Obsession, November Rain, The Garden, Don't Damn Me, Bad Apples, Dead Horse, Coma....DREAMer, I'm starting to wonder whether you've even heard the Illusion albums.

I agree that AFD is the best, but does that mean a band can't put anything else out after their best album? I don't know about you, but I sometimes get tired of hearing the same album over and over. If we extend that to sports, why do I need to watch the Rockets play anymore after they've already won 2 championships? I mean, they're never going to be as good as that, so what's the point? If I'm going to do that, I might as well just watch Golden State or listen to REM.

I'll be expecting a prompt response.
