yep you click the website, they make you type in your old password and then a new one. They take the old one and use it to access your account and get your info. Don't go to the link just delete the email.

You gotta give the paypal scammers credit, at least they put an effort into their phishing emails. I keep getting this crap at work from Union Planter's bank asking me to "verify my account information". Other than the e-mail being littered with spelling and grammar mistakes and the minute detail that I've never had a Union Planters account in my life, it looked pretty authentic...

Go straight to ebay to do it. The link in the email is to a website run by the phishers

my friend actually fell for this and then told me about how his account got suspended for no reason.
i told him to immediately change his password.
    so far he's been alright.
is there any further actions that i need to tell him to take?

Ebay phishers tried that scam on me last year. They made a mistake on the title of the email and it look pretty suspicious.
They said I was doing some vague illegal activity with my account and they need to verify my account information so they wont suspend my account.

Although it wasn't the best thing to do, I replied and basically dared them to suspend my account since I haven't bought or sold anything for atleast 6 months. Needless to say, my account was never suspended.
