McMillan likes Yao Count McMillan among the growing legion of Yao Ming fans. "Watching him against us, he has shown a lot of improvement," McMillan said. "He really knows angles, how to get deep post position; he's more physical than he was. But now, with his feel for the game, he's a dominant player. You have to put him in the category of a Shaquille (O'Neal), a Tim (Duncan), those players that I don't think there's a way of stopping." http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2002238737_soninotes12.html
Of course, Natey-boy doesn't have a single reliable low-post presence, nor anyone who can defend a legitimate big man, so witnessing Yao in action had to be quite a treat for him (and the rest of Seattle) last night.
Man, fishy. Seattle always wanted Yao. When he was still in CBA, seattle promised they would hire 8 coaches to coach Yao if he joined seattle.
Unfortunately, everyone in the league seems to realize this EXCEPT YAO. Once he accepts that he can be dominant and that being dominant benefits his team more than trying to be an equal teammate, he'll start to dominate on a regular basis. I just hope it happens soon. I'd hate for him to discover this after he turns 30.
McMillan is stoned off his arse. Yao is good, but light years from becoming Shaq. Maybe when Shaq is 40 Yao will be as good as him. But hey, Yao played pretty darn good the other night against the Sonics. McMillan and Bill Walton need to go to Embellishers Anonymous meetings.
It's amazing how complimentary the opposing coach gets when you become a possible first-round matchup. Anyone notice the JVG quote on how hard the Sonics competed yesterday?
Now I am curious why I have never seen any 'Yao will bolt for Seattle in 2006' threads. Is it because there are no Sonics fans on this board or what?
