ESPN.com The bad news? Rockets are 7-6 since losing Juwan for good. The good news? A win in Monday's road finale at Seattle would make this Houston's second-best road team ever at 25-16. ------------------------------------------ Very interesting about the road record. A cookie for anyone who knows what year we had our best road record.
my problem with espn rankings is that they want to have their cake and eat it too. when it serves their purpose, they put the hotter teams at higher ranks, but when they want to serve their agenda, they'll still put a team like miami or san antonio atop because they are the de facto best teams. i with they would pick one method or the other. a team like goldenstate which has been very very hot is still ranked only 17th. not that i agree that they are one of the best teams in the league, but based on the precedence of placing denver above all else on the list because they are the hottest team....is a contradiction in an of itself.
I'm trying to find a link for you guys, but I'm sure it was 93-94, when we opened up the season by winning our first 15 games.
What about the last year we were in the Summit/Compaq Center? That year we went undefeated against one Eastern Conference division and basically destroyed the entire EC ... didn't we have a pretty good road record that year as well?
They've had sellouts lately. I could've bought the empty seats excuse earlier in the season, but not now.
Totally agree. Even if the Rockets run the table going into the postseason, ESPN would not rank them no higher than 6 (5 would be a stretch). Yes I am a homer, but even if I weren't I'd genuinely believe there is a Rockets bias at ESPN. Perhaps it is because Yao is not the bust many of them thought he'd be.
This flagrant show of disrespect throws into question a lucrative BCS berth and could cost them millions.
