I'm watching The Simpsons season 5 right now, and this just might be the greatest season of a sitcom ever. I mean, classic episode after classic episode back to back to back, including the greatest episode of all time, Cape Feare. "Hey Bart, wanna see my new chainsaw and hockey mask?!?!?!?!"
yea so far season 5 is the best dvd set out there for the simpsons. i think it might be the best season since it has so many classics. but unfortunately imo, the simpsons went downward after 2000
I love that Sideshow Bob episode... Bart: "Take him away boys!" Wiggum: "Hey, I'm the chief - bake him away, toys!" Eddie: "What did you say, Chief?" Wiggum: "Do what the kid said."
The voice of Bart Simpson, forget her name, went to my high school, and in a few weeks is going to come speak there. Think its mainly to promote her new book, though, but still pretty cool she is going to make a visit.
Nancy Cartwright, she also does the voices for mostly all the male school children. Season 5 is quite good. Classics like Deep Space Homer, $pringfield or how I learned to stop worrying and love legalized gambling, Bart gets famous (I didn't do it), Homer Goes to College (With the imfamous Scratchy gets Itchy episode), and as others have mentioned, the great Cape Feare Bart : ... And please God, Kill Sideshow Bob. Marge : Bart! You don't ask God to kill people. Homer : Yeah, you do your own dirty work. Good stuff. it appeared they were cranking them out faster, as Season 5 came out 6 months after Season 4, which was a lot faster than the usual near year-long wait. But Season 6 was scheduled to come out in June but now it has been pushed back to an unknown date
I remember in 1995, Season 7, hearing from folx that the series had lost it's way and was not nearly as funny as it used to be - citing the Lisa the Vegetarian episode as terribly unfunny. I'm glad to hear the show stayed funny until 2000. Cape Feare is also my favorite episode ever. HOMER [Opening a letter]Oh my god! Somebody is trying to kill me. (The family rushes in ) Oh wait, it's for Bart. -and- MARGE Lisa, you got a letter. LISA It's from my pen-pal Anya! [reads] ANYA [voice over] Dear Lisa, as I write this, I am very sad. Our president has been overthrown and [voice changes to that of a man ] replaced by the benevolent general Krull. All hail Krull and his glorious new regime! Sincerely, Little Girl
are you kidding me? That's a classic episode.... Homer: So, you're never going to eat meat again? Lisa: No Homer: What about bacon? Lisa: No Homer: Ham? Lisa: No Homer: Pork Chops? Lisa: DAD! Those all come from the same animal! Homer: Right, Lisa...a magical animal...from fantasy land! ...and of course, Linda McCartney's classic line..."You'd be suprised how many vegetarian dinners have a big hunk of pork in them"...
I know. But that's what I was hearing back then. Check out some of the reviews at the time from this fan site: The Simpsons Archive LISA Good news, everyone! You don't have to eat meat! I've got enough gazpacho for everyone. [Crowd murmurs.] It's tomato soup, served ice cold! BARNEY Go back to Russia!
