That we're all whores. We're all prostitutes in some way or another. Whether it be giving our souls to our workplaces to earn a living in something that we'd never otherwise do, or just being a normal, everyday pushover, we're all whores. If you look at life this way, it's makes you wonder as to why prostitution is illegal. Afterall, isn't someone selling their body for sex(if someone is dumb enough to pay for it), the same thing as me selling my body and my mind to my place of work? What's the difference? It's pretty much the same thing as an athlete selling his body to a sport. If someone is stupid enough to pay for a prostitute, let them be. Afterall, we're all just whores, anyways. Note to mods: Move this to D & D if it actually gets replies, and you feel the need.
I knew I'd get that comment from someone. That's not my point here, though. That thought sickens me. How could someone just go up to a random person they don't know, and offer money for sex? I'm not that superficial or desperate.
Well, I was at work (at Eckerd Drugs) tonight, and they made me wear this crappy Jessica Simpson signage on my shirt. That's what got me thinking about the whole thing...
We all prostitute ourselves sometimes (no, get your minds out of the gutter, not that way). To please people at work... in unhappy relationships where we feel like we have to "do the right thing"... etc. But it makes me sick to even think about someone having intimate relations for money. This is supposed to be something that is about having a very deep bond with someone, emotional and otherwise, and sharing the most intimate experience you can. And they're cheapening it by making it a business transaction. I mean, if you just want something to stick your (male body part) in, why don't you use your hand? And, speaking for the female, I don't know how she can stand it. You would naturally feel used and dirty. That's just the way it is. And, as for those who marry rich old men they're not attracted to just for the money or status... even those who prize men with financial "security" above all else... they're wh*res too.
That's exactly my stance on prostitution Isabel, but I'm just wondering why it's outlawed and considered such a bad thing, when we all do it (just not in a sexual way). You'd get nowhere in life without some form of prostitution at one point or another; because of this, I'm wondering why it is illegal for a woman to prostitue on the street.
There is a HUGE difference between selling your body - giving away things that are extremely private and personal - and making sacrifices in order to achieve something you want. You may be able to equate a woman selling herself for money to someone working a tough job at McDonald's in order to pay for lunch money for her kids, but I just cannot do it. I don't think prostitution should be outlawed either. People should be able to do what they want with themselves and their bodies. But, that doesn't mean it is the same thing as some job you don't like.
I was going to say that I wasn't comparing the two, that I was just trying to use it as an example or something, but that's the same thing. Anyways, I'm not really sure what the point of this thread was, other than it was for me to think, which is something I like to do - especially at night. I'm just saying that it's not really the government's position to definie morality, because that seems to be the only reason that prostitution is outlawed. Don't get me wrong, prostitution is morally wrong and I don't condone it. I'm just wondering how in this "free country", our government can outlaw such a thing when we have millions and millions of people nationwide doing the same thing, but on a different level and purpose. But then again, morality and the government will probably start a whole new discussion, which will then get this thread moved to the D & D.
its all about "Control".... if you remember from back in the days the Romans created the "Games" to get society away from thinking about politics and power... in a way keep their minds off from whats going on top.... for example the bills and mortgage becomes your primary focus in life.... and the promotion for the need for immediate gratification keeps you in debt ... therefore yes you are a w**** for the people in power. but buddy ....that has been the world forever... all a frggin ploy... a ploy I tell you!!!!!!!!!!!
