Why not give him a shot in these last few games? Spoon can't do it, Padgett is better as a role player off the bench, and Baker is a washout.

I have only seen him in a game like once and did not do much. I still do not understand why they signed him instead of james thomas.

Like i said in the "start baker" thread:

we know we are getting little to nothing from spoon/pad.....so why not take a chance on someone new? what are we really losing?

Juwan Howard's injury, TMac's knees and back, Jon Barry's back, Sura's back, Wesley tired legs, Yao various knick cuts and bruises...

I don't think Braggs will be enough.

We're on a 3 game skid, we might as well try something different.

I understand that Baker was just a contract move. He is not the all star he was in the past(but he does know how to succeed). There is a reason NBA GMs make their money(as unbelievable as it seems..most know what they are doing more than us fans....thats their job [except Isiah]). If Braggs had anything....he would already be playing. I love the guy as I do all Rox. He is just a band-aid that will probably not be used.

Well, the point of wearing a band-aid is to stop the bleeding. Judging by the 3 game skid we're on, I think it's safe to say we're bleeding.

To my pleasant surprise Spoon has greatly improved from earlier this season but I will agree with you here.

I put worthless credibility on the line and say that Bragg can give us as much as Juwan gave to us. He is currently our strongest and most athletic PF now - his fire and heart cannot be questioned. I cannot wait for JVG to pull the trigger and get Bragg at the top of the PF pecking order.

I am very confident that it will work out great. If nothing else coach, start by giving Toraye quality minutes now and go from there. JVG is a loyalist and this could be the main reason this may not happen at all or happen now.

I agree Fegwu- Braggs is very strong- we can use that physical presence to help yao. He is quicker than Spoon I think. He can take more minutes - he has been playing overseas and should be in good shape. Better shape than spoon, more physical than Padgett......

Let's try him and see what he has - at least for a few minutes even if Spoon still starts.

There has to be a reason why JVG continues to play Spoon ahead of Braggs. It probably because even though Spoon sucks, Braggs is probably even worse. I wouldnt mind seeing what Braggs can offer but if JVG continues to sit him on the bench then there is probably a reason for that.

I think Braggs cannot be on the Rockets' active playoff roster, because of the date he was signed. There is a deadline to sign free agents so they can play in the playoffs. So there is no point playing him now, if he can't play in the playoffs

Actually according to the Chronicle report we read a few weeks back, Braggs can be added to the playoff roster. This is because he was a free agent or released before March 1 or thereabout. If you are released after that date and get picked up by another team (see Andre Barret and Orlando) you will not make the team's playoffs roster.

That said, I cannot wait for Bragg to get his opportunity for more minutes. Even JVG said it himself - that he regrets releasing himn last season. I was excited about the little minutes he received because it was clear that he had an impact albeit gabbage time minutes. JVG knows better than I do so I will wait to see what is going on - I wish someone asked him about Torraye in his radio show.

Where is Doc when you need him?

Braggs worked fairly well in the system. Thomas would have to learn the system.
