The Rockets could desperately use Mo Taylor now as they are basically a three point shooting team, when they can't get the ball to Yao who has a hard time getting shots. The Mo Taylor trade won't help us replace him for at least another year. If the Rockets don't make the playoffs, or go out easily in the first round while missing frequent 3 pointers, as may well be the case, it will be this one trade too many which is to blame.

I'm still worried about JVG's authoritarianism as it limits the pool of players who can succeed with him. We need a big man who can keep the offense going and Mo was that type of player. As far as I can see we don't get creamed on the boards with Yao, Motumbo and McGrady, so while important, defense and rebounding are not so critical from our pf. Of course we would like to have the do- it- all pf who scores inside and out with good defense and rebounding, but then we are talking about another all star. Would be nice, but realistically.

Why can't we get a big Euro who can shoot from mid-range and outsdide. . Practically it seems like everybody in the NBA has a couple except for us.:(

Basing the whole team on Yao and Tracy with aging JVG approved veterans who take outside shots and get injured frequently is unlikely to lead to consistency or championships. Hopefully this model is just a stop gap measure.

Well, I don't see Sura and James as old veterans, although Sura has been playing injured.

James was a key rebuilding piece at PG. But, like you say, we need more of them, and depth, to build a championship team. I hope we find a way to get a higher draft pick this year. This seems like a deep draft, due to the posibility of new age limits, and even at our draft position, we're likely to get someone who could stick. I'd just like more than one this year. I think they are platooning Spanoulis and Badiane in Europe.

This team, if healthy, I believe, could go all the way. But, they are too banged up now, it seems, unless this is just a hidden way to get preferred playoff seeding.

MO had to go because of team chemistry and not buying into the JVG way. JVG had to set the standard, so as new guys come on board, there's no argument of how this team will operate. It was addition by subtraction.

Definitely. The 5 points and 3 rebounds he has averaged for the Knicks since the trade has shamed the Rockets organization...made them a laughing stock for letting Mo go.

The taylor trade was a salary dump to have cash to continue the rebuilding this off season.

i am confident that we will find a way to get a real 4 that compliments Yao!

Can you guys stop with the conspiracy that we're tanking to get a preferred seed. We played hard and just lost because typically a team full of older players will run out of gas at the end of season.

Good to let MO go. He never except once earlier in the season in one game (still remember Bill Worrell saying looks like Mo has got a little faster in his step this year) gave his full effort and you could tell.

On the team and system we currently have "now" Mo wouldnt be giving us much more than we are getting from Spoon these days. I am just thankful we are out from under his ridiculous contract. I am still amazed at all the expiring contracts we have for next year. We were smart to make that trade for the future. CD/JVG has done a great job of rebuilding this team on the run this season.

Let it go already.....if Mo was that freakin' good we would not have traded him to NY....lol

The only people targeting this team to do anything this season was the media. I for one given the roster overhall did not even have them pegged to make the playoffs. That being said this team is positioning itself for the future with these salary dumps.

Have you even looked at his stats with NY. Check them out B4 you say he could be helping. He is not worth $1 mill much less $9 mill.

If Mo was here (and happy, and JVG could bring himself to put him on the court), he could be a huge help to us. His scoring threat would open the whole offense. However, the burden of his salary on the payroll was so odious, it would still be worth trading him. Add to that the fact that his falling out with JVG meant that he wasn't productive on the floor and that JVG wouldn't play him anyway, and there really was no point in keeping him around.

you wouldn't be saying any of this if howard wasn't injured, so give it a rest.

if both sura and james go down will you be wondering if the francis trade was really worth it???

    please......

Yeah KT pulled down 16 boards a few games ago, scored, had assists, has young legs.

This is almost as bad as dreaming about one of the cheerleaders - and me when I was 18 a lifetime ago. It ain't ever going to happen again.

    :(

Anyone getting second thoughts now that Howard is out for the season? Is Spoon really better than what Mo might be doing for us now?
