http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/kelly_dwyer/04/04/twolves.pacers/index.html Chumps • The Boston Celtics actually came crashing back to Earth a week and a half ago, but because last week included a listless loss to the Dallas Mavericks, and an embarrassing national TV defeat at home against the rival Philadelphia 76ers, fans of Gang Green have to feel a little nervous about the shapes of things to come. They've lost five of six, and though the remaining schedule should be passable enough (five of eight games on the road, mostly against mediocre teams), Boston has lost the edge that had the entire East scared stiff at this time last month. • Houston won two of five games last week, and while the West's fifth seed (they're just a half-game back) is still in reach, the Rockets have reverted to the plodding style that they stumbled out of the '04-05 gate with. They've averaged just 84 points per game during this little swoon, and April won't be much fun to behold. Five of their eight games come against Western playoff teams, alongside a road trip to Golden State, and matchups with both Los Angeles teams.
The Rockets may be chumps, but they can improve through hard work, trades or the draft. Kelly Dwyer will never be anything more than a Rob Thomas wanna-be douche. KIDDING. Actually what he said wasn't all that bad. I think he's wrong though. We'll pull it together and win most of the remaining games.
yeah, I can't argue with the guy. As OddsOn said, sometimes, the truth hurts. Let's just hope the horrid shooting ends soon.
Kelly's got some brass ones. How many sports writers would use their real name and let everybody know who they are on a sports message board? I bet Gammons is a member of Sons of Sam Horn, but under a pseudonym. Now if people are gonna call him out on his opinions, do it like a man and address him. Don't just post his article and his picture and wait for everybody else to pile on, that's weak. You should have said "Kelly, I think your opinion is BS because blah blah blah!" I wish I could disagree with Kelly, but we are facing some stiff competition coming up. I don't think he was saying the LA teams would be a problem, but Golden State are on a 5 game win streak right now and have won 8 of their last 10 including W's over Seattle, Phoenix, and 2 over the Kings. We've also got to face Phoenix and Seattle twice, both are division leaders. Memphis I'm not too worried about, but Denver has won 9 of 10, though the only beat 2 good teams during that stretch, but one of them was San Antonio. The Rockets can beat all of these teams, but not if they play the same way they've been playing lately. Something needs to change. I'm confident that the team will figure it out.
I'd like to argue with Kelly's piece, but currently the Rockets aren't giving me much ammunition. I sure hope the Rockets give Kelly a hell of an argument though.
I am really really hoping that this is a deliberate attempt by the team to stay in 6th seed... with 'shard hobbled.. I'm hoping we can sweep the much overrated sonics
I'd be disappointed if Kelly only posted positive comments about the Rockets. He's gotta call em like he sees em (and he's right here).
i didnt know the 2 los angeles teams are teams we're supposed to be concerned of. LA sucks. both of em
