I actually picked them in the Sweet 16, too. Picked them last year also. What I liked (purely from having read about them) was that the shoot the 3 ball amazingly, they play full court pressure D, and they have some decent size. I thought they had a shot to upset Bama, and I knew their style of play would be tough for BC -- plus BC's playing like crap. Of course, I'm such a genius I picked Wake to ****ing win it all.
Same here. I had Wake and Syracuse both in the final 4, and they're both done now. I'm still in first, but I don't think it's going to last.
No, it won't. You should've picked Tech, like I told you to. Now go sit in the corner. (A funny thing I do is to go up to one of my buddies and ask "Can you do me a huge favor?" They have to say yes. Then I say "Can you go stand in the corner for five minutes?" They never do it, though.)
(Another funny thing I do is when one of my friends asks for a cigarrette. I throw it across the room and yell "GO GET IT!" It's always funny to watch somebody fetch it.)
Thanks for screwing me UConn! Ok. State and Florida are down right now as well.....I might as well quit if they lose.
God bless Louisville for not allowing west virginia to make a mockery of this tournament. one of the most impressive wins i've ever seen. upsets are nice for rounds one and two but a team shooting out of its collective mind and trying to knock off a legitimately good team with a fluke performance sucks. same thing as when indiana rode about 4 guys being on fire to the finals that one year (although they stopped ou in the final 4 so they got that going for them). not only did louisville come back, but wvu actually shot 3's even better in the 2nd half than in the first and louisville still made it back. and after the refs took their best player out of the game on a terrible call with 4 minutes left (the refs seem to like to do that when you play wvu). what a game, to beat a team that at one point was 18 for 24 on 3's.
Yeah, that louisville comeback was great... and I have them getting into the Final 4 in my bracket, so I was pleased.
Finals time ... and I am lovin' it. In the yahoo league, it is me and Illinois vs. Stack and UNC. In the espn league, it is me and UMiami Rocketz with Illinois (tied) vs. College Stat Ming Dynasty and UNC. While UNC is the favorite, I like my chances with the underdog 36 win Illini. And if there is an upset in a lower scoring game, I will have the ultimate bragging rights for the 2005 NCAA men's tournament with thousands of clutch fan's that I have never met. Not much of a prize ... too bad we didn't put a friendly wager on it.
Congrats to Stack and UMiami Rocketz! I guess I owe my quarter for the drink we have to buy Stack at Live
