It would be great if the Texans could move up to get DJ. After watching him for UT the last 3 years, I can honestly say he is the best linebacker to come out in years. He's got the strength, the speed, and the know-how. This would be a HUGE pickup for the Texans if we could get him.
He wouldn't have been the best if he had come out last year, and if more players had come out this year, he wouldn't have been the best this year either(still might not be).
The only thing that worries me about him is that I dont know how he would handle the 3-4. I just have a hard time picturing him shedding off blocks that come from the C or G.
Physically, I think he's the best since Arrington. He would have gone ahead of DJ Williams. I think Crisco may be one of those anti-Texas guys, not sure though.
It looked like he was starting to slip before the combine, mainly because he didn't get many sacks. Then again, no Longhorns ever rack up the sacks that i remember. But they we're interviewing him on the radio the other day and apparently he had the 2nd fastest shuttle time out of everyone (including WR's and RB's.) That was pretty shocking to me. They were joking that he was probably faster them Maurice Claurett so he could play running back. It would make sense for the Texans to go after him. They're trying to make a very fast defenive line, and he's definantly fast.
Because I think there were better prospects last year and could have been some this year that pushed him down had they declared. Not saying that he's not a good player and wouldn't be a good pick at any point in the draft with this current talent pool, just that I don't think he's a "once in a few years" prospect that he's touted to be in this thread.
