I think you are talking about his move against the Magic in his rookie year !? I'm guessing the rookie year because his clips are more covered by the 2nd year. He actually did a fake and spin from the THREE POINT LINE, took one dribble and alll the way for the one hand jam ! I'm not even remembering it too much, so can someone please revive that gorgeous move in Clutchfans.net if they have it on tape or somewhere ? That's one top notch Yao highlight that's not talked about so much.
I like the play where he backed down Big Ben and dunked on his face. Oh my... Ben was so helpless and I felt sorry for him.
I liked the one handed jam on Ratliff where he caught it in stride and really took off. I didn't know he could get up that high. He had the ball to the top of the box.
And this one. Around 2:40 mark. He's like 20 then? http://s27.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0DTWUUQPJH18I2D70UQUPYCMW6
we may never see another player yao's side go behind the back on the break and then go in for a dunk. the shanghai shake was awesome but i we may see that again. the circumstances of that behind the back happen once a year if even. passing the outlet to your 7'6" center then having him dribble down the court and then going behind the back to avoid the steal and then dunking. it's like a 1 in a million play.
The move he did in that Pacer game is not the move Bill and Calvin named the Shanghai Shake. His "Shanghai Shake" is just a miniature Dream Shake without the shake. Also, that awesome clip of Dream making D-Rob look foolish is not the Dream Shake. My favorite Yao move was the move he did in the Pacers game but when I saw Yao go behind the back I jumped up and went Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..woooooooooooow!!!! The slap pass was cool too.
Can someone post a replay of that slap pass to SF? There are so many people talking about this one but I don't think I've seen that. Thanks.
He had some pretty decent hops back then. What happened? The extra 25-30 pounds? Thanks for the link.
So was his crossover then dunk in the suns game... Hey actually could anyone make a mix on dunks ON YAO. It's gonna be an amazing mix, I think.....
And anybody mentioned his drive and layup over Shaq in last year's game. That was the best move he put on shaq.
My vote goes to the no-look over the head pass to Moochie for the lay up. I have never forgotten that. Aweome!!!! This post goes to show that Yao has had a lot of great moments in his brief time in the NBA, not only the behind the back dribble.
Anyone remember when Yao dropped the ball over his head & behind him to a cutting Cutino for an easy layup. That was a classic pass-streetball style.
Shanghi Shake? There's no shake in that move... And this has gotta be the dumbest name for one of his moves. Sounds too much like imitating dream, and his "dream shake." Couldnt think of anything that would sound more original??? *sigh*
