No, this is not true. Like the supposed death of the gold girl in the Bond movie, Goldfinger, this is an urban myth. Margaret Hamiton played the wicked witch of the west in the original production of the Wizard of Oz. She appeared in many films before and after Oz and acted on television as late as 1979. She died in 1985 of a heart attack at the age of 83. ------------------ The way to use life is to do nothing through acting, The way to use life is to do everything through being. - Lao-Tzu

#13 Airplane #14 Airport '75 #15 Airport '77 #16 Airport, The Concorde I still have another 3 to go. --------------------------------------------- jamcracker, It is to confirm what you think is a fact, not a cheat. A person has to already have a certain amount of recollection to know what movies fit the required profile. I knew "the Longest Day" had a huge cast and had to use a resource to get the list correct. I have dealt with the member who issued the challenge in the past and he is picky about details. Mango ------------------ Lets get the Mo Go working! Test Your NBA Trade Ideas 1. Altho, you gotta admit, it'd be pretty easy to just take a couple names from one of these cast list, feed 'em to imdb to get each actors filmography, then look for a title match.
jamcracker, Yes, but that isn't how I did it. Just pick out movies with large casts or with lots of cameos such as the Airport series and punch it in to see if the cast fits the profile. Older movies that have been around are easier to use because you are more likely to have seen them several times and several of the cast members might have blossomed into "names" since their movie appearance. mango - I didn't mean to impugn your movie trivia skills. Just pointing out one of the problem with answering trivia questions in this bbs format - anyone can "cheat" and look up the answers. Not that I'm accusing anyone. Why'd you point me at that Jenna thread, anyway? (which I'd already seen, btw) [This message has been edited by jamcracker (edited January 05, 2001).]
Even if you want to cheat you still have to do some homework . ------------------ "Its a good thing they don't make posters of European players" -Walt Williams after getting "posterized" by Zan Tabak .
Didn't know that you had seen it. Just to illustrate why I am overly cautious about details in this particular thread since I was one of the principles in the thread I pointed you to. Here's a bit of trivia: Mel Brooks asked John Wayne to play the Waco Kid in Blazing Saddles, but Wayne refused (though Wayne apparently thought the script was very funny). Gig Young was hired to play the part, got sick on the first day of shooting (shooting the jail cell scene) and was replaced by Brooks' good friend Gene Wilder the next day. ------------------ Houston Sports Board

That second one has to be some Robert Altman flick, but I don't know for sure which one. I'll guess Ready To Wear (Pret a Porter). But that's just guessing (I don't want to go cheat on the IMDb since I haven't so far). ------------------ Houston Sports Board
