I am tired of Jon Barry's shooting slump. I am tired of watching him shake his head for several games now. He needs to get his focus and sh++ together.

it's not just j.b. who's struggling, t-mac's % has gone down, so has d. wesley, and m. james....just remember the rocks have a old team so they can't bring it every game. as long as he finds his touch in time for the playoffs, we'll be alright.

Nobody can bring it every game

It's like saying, "I'm tired of ever seeing the team lose. Stop losing!"

JB can't control his shooting slump. Shots just aren't going down. You have to give it time.

That's the problem with an old team. When you get tired, the spring in the legs is the 1st to go. When the legs loose their spring, the shot goes. This is especially hard for medium to long range shots.

Recently Rockets play better defense. But as you can see, defense takes away too much energy, especially Rockets players are old and Yao has stamina problem. Usually when Rockets has a really good offensive game, the defense is not too good, and vice versa.

Under JVG, everybody's offensive efficiency will go down because of the energy they spend on defensive end. It affects Yao more than other guys because when Yao's tired he makes more stupid fouls and can't even stay on the floor.

Why does Bob Sura only step up his offensive game when T-Mac is out of the game??? Wish he would score more offensively like he did earlier in the year.. that's when we were playing well. Really James and more Wesley and Barry especially lately need to get out of their slumps. Someone light a match under Yao's as_ !!!

I have actually heard that men psychologically perform better when they are yelled at. For some reason it motivates them to do something about it. For women they do the opposite. Do we need a coach to yell at Yao like maybe a pissed off Jabaar or something???

Our whole team is streaky like Barry is shooting. T-Mac is the closest thing to consistency we have. All we can hope for is we are streaking hot when the playoffs come. But then it comes down to how long we can stay hot.

We can NOT afford 4 guards going ice cold together for weeks. I can live with 1 or 2 guards getting into a shooting slump, but we are getting little scoring punch from Sura/Wesley/Barry/James and that is UNACCEPTABLE!

So do you think if JVG walks over to Yao and actually takes his gameboy and tells him he will get it back when he plays a GREAT game, that Yao might actually get motivated?? Would Yao actually get pi$$ed off? When is Yao going to accidentally hit a pesky guard like Ginobili in the head with an elbow? His 12th season? I am getting the feeling that he is so scared of hurting other players that he actually moves less, rotates his body & elbows less than he should (to protect the ball) in order to not accidentally hurt short guards. Did he accidentally hurt someone in China years ago and now he is scared of being physical on the court?

JVG take the gameboy. Lock it in your desk.

What does he do for Sura - take his little black book? Spoon - take his spoon? Barry - take his BenGay ointment.... no he needs that.

    Here are your answers:

For Yao.. yes of course take his gameboy and start verbally attacking him about everything he does wrong in practice.. forget feelings.. train him like Rocky Balboa. You got to let him know upfont so he doesn't wine and become weak about it.

    For Barry:
You just got to threaten him. You want to get traded! You want to go back to the Hawks and sit on the bench? Or how about the Hornets? Start yelling at him in practice.

    For Sura:
Tell him to start scoring or your going to tear up his black book. I would tear up the black book in his face and say it's about scoring. You need to score . You are not focusing. Everything else Sura does is real good besides the few mistakes.

I hated watching Ginoboli especially when he stole that ball from Yao. I was so pissed off at Yao. I didn't care that it was from his blind side or not. If Yao was playing great otherwise I wouldn't have cared as much.

Playoff focus will help. If we get those wide open looks in the playoffs the shots will be made. Mac will probably go off for 50 on occasion. I think we will step up to the plate under the intensity of the spotlight. just a hunch.

Yao Ming, 49 FG percentage under Rudy. This year under JVG he is at 55%. Jon Barry, Bob Sura, Yao Ming, David Wesley, Mike James.. all of these rotation players are shooting the ball better than they have in recent years. Some of these guys are having close to career years with their FG percentages. And Mcgrady is scoring at a higher efficiency than last year. So what you said there is not true at all.

One of the by products of losing J.Howard is this. What is happening is the opposition is double teaming Yao with their PF instead of sending a guard in to help with a double team.

If you notice early in the games the opposition is mainly keeping a single man on Yao. After he hits a couple shots they start ignoring our PF and start making it difficult for Yao to get the ball. If Yao doesn't get immediate position down low he will normally come out and start setting picks on top.

By doubling down low on Yao with their PF and not with a guard it is allowing the other team to keep pressure on the ball and stay with our shooters. If you noticed our open looks at the 3 point line is way down compared to when Howard was still playing. With Scott Padgett struggling with his shot it doesn't take a brain surgeon to pick out what the opposition is going to take away and force the Rox to do.

Our PF's although giving us their best effort just are not making the opposition pay for the defense they are playing. Howard for whatever shortcomings he has could hit the open 10-15 footer on a consistent basis and was decent down low. With him out the other teams guards are just not leaving our shooters like they once were. Coincedentally Wesley's, Barry's and James' shooting percentage have all come down the last few games.
